If you're going to be spending the rest of eternity as a spiritual being anyways, then why make us physical organisms to begin with? What's the point?

This is the only life we get, spend it right.

As physical beings, you have more opportunities to help others. One of my little students told me that he did not even have a fridge anymore; lightning got it. I called around and have found a small one to take to school. His uncle or someone can come get it. Now I am working on finding a washing machine, if I can. How could I do all that if I were not physical?
I think we are here to help one another....religious or not.

Jesus said in Luke 24."Touch me ,a spirit has not flesh and bone as you see I have".
This was after the resurrection.We will be physical but it is not a body made from "dust" .It is a spiritually made body (I Corinthians 15) but not a spirit body.Solid but able to demolecularize and pass through walls etc as Jesus did.Don't forget ,He also ate food with that new body.He had some fish and honeycomb.

Experiencing freedom. Without a mortal existance, one can never know what freedom is. Maybe pointless to you, but as a result of this life, believers who overcome and find freedom are superior to the angels.

In order to do things here, spirit needs to be seen and heard, to touch and to be touched. Otherwise, we would be like ghosts trying to communicate, and interact with people, but can't.

Hello, smells like pot. The point is that most of us are idiots in our bodies and need to learn the meaning of love and acceptance. Life is a gift, it is a gift to be able to touch, smell and feel, enjoy it while you can.

Actually this life is like being in hell, so, we are all sinners and receive our punishment up front. And then we get a chance at redemption.
