Up until recently, I have found it difficult to pray for blessings for myself, family, or friends. We know the Christian life is to be one of hardship (for the most part), right? So it seems to me that praying for blessings is praying to avoid hardship, thus praying to not face the life of a Christian. If it makes me or my family or friends happy, then it would be selfish to ask for. Extremely stated, we should be praying for more and more troubles and fewer and fewer blessings. I know my logic here is false somehow, after all, we also know that "Ye have not because ye ask not" and God truly wants to bless us. I also have thought in the past that we should honestly be looking at troubles as blessings, and good things are just accidental bonuses. I do pray now for such blessings, but honestly just b/c I feel it can't hurt -- and the whole not-praying bit was seriously destroying my Realationship. Any takers out there? Thanks to all, and God bless.

Praying for the lost souls! Pray you will Accept Jesus as your Savior! Before its too late! God bless! Be still and know that God is near. Wherever you may be; You cannot go beyond God's reach, He hears your faintest plea. He knows the problems that you face. The hurt you're going through; Because you are His own dear child. He wants whats best for you. He holds the future in His hands, He sees what lies ahead, And He will sately guide you through. This time that you now dread. O weary one, Know that God is near. Trust in His will and way; He is waiting there to help you. He is just a prayer away! Jesus loves you!

How did a small sect of ,primarily middle eastern, fanatics come to dominate the religous world? In all seriousness how can a religion that promotes murder for supposed sins, intolerance ,hates of others and outright bigotry spread like it did?

Was it thru fear of retribution that people converted or suddenly 'found god'? Was it thru intimidation? I know they will say that they 'found the spirit' or some of that nonsense.

Does anyone know how the historic greed, intolerance, bigotry and hate of the christian church became as big as it did? I mean you don't have to look very far to see the ethics of these..ahem...pillars of the community. Look in any local church and you'll see enough backstabbing and lying, not to mention idiocy, to make you wonder.

I just want to know what one factor (or was it a combination of factors) let christianity spread like it did. The historic violence of the sect helped im sure. But what other factors?

What say you?

Was it inborn or was there something that "opened your eyes"? (Besides reading a holy scripture, of course). I'm in great need for faith, please share your story. Thank you.

I live out of town from my parents' and our family's parish, and I'm thinking about joining one up where I live. However, I don't want to no longer be a member of my old parish, even though I'm not really an active member there anymore. If I officially become a member of this new parish, will I have to forfeit my membership at my old parish? I know I can still worship wherever I please, but I want something official so I can obtain records someday if needed.

Today is the day for salvation

I have been praying the last couple of days for people on yahoo and the Holy Spirit is calling someone today to give their life to Jesus. Are you tired of the way your life has been going? Are you living in bondage of lust. alcoholism, drugs or even witchcraft. Just give your life to Jesus and you will become a free person. He came to give you life and life more abundant.

Pray the following "Jesus come into my life. Be my Lord and Savior today. I repent of my sins. I am tired of living this life and need you to change life's situations for me. I want to live for you the rest of my life"

If you meant this prayer you are now born-again and going to heaven. Start reading your Bible and find a good church. Ask Jesus to guide you everyday, He will. He will also send you other Christians to love and encourage you. This is the greatest decision you have ever made. Jesus Loves You and is going to bless your life.

Do you believe in the trinity? Why or why not?Do you believe in the Bible? I think that if you believe in the Bible, you have to believe in the trinity, because the Bible refers to it. When God decided to create man, He said, "Let us make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness" (Gen. 1:26)After Adams sin God said that "that man is become as one of US, to know good and evil."(Gen.3:22) At the tower of Babel God said, "Go to , let US go down, and there confound their language" From the New Testament....God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit were all present at Christ's baptism (Matt.3:16-17) Before His ascension, Christ alluded to the Trinity when He told His people to baptize converts"in the name of the Father, and of the Son,and of the Holy Ghost"(Matt.28:19) and 2Cor.13:14 "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all"

The Apostle Peter showed that all three persons of the Trinity are at work in salvation:

According to Roman Catholics they claim Mary remained a virgin throughout her entire life.
Would it not be considered sin on Mary's part to DENY Joseph's carnal desires towards his wife, in that pre-birth control pill era?
Is it not written plainly in. 1 Corinthians 7:3-5, "Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, …”

Didnt they found the Burial Box of James, (Jesus Brother)??
On the top of the box the inscription reads, "James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus."

Im Not bashing.
Just please explain confusing dogma to me.

I believe in God and that there is more to life than what we see on earth. Life is meaningful because of it. But religions like Christianity and Islam destroy the apeal of the existence of a God. They do this because of their "rules of life" and with concepts that non believers will go to hell. Also, they go so far as to base things on some books -like the bible and Q'uran. Books that are full of contradictions and discriminations. For example in Islam the belief that something so natural as homosexuality is a sin.

This is not fair. It is not fair that these religions degrad the concept of a wonderful God. I believe in God and this God loves you regardless of your religion/belief. God does not require that you believe or think your sexual preference is a sin. God is pure love and proof of God is all around us.

Do you agree that religions like Christianity and Islam are turning people towards atheism?
