Because as the Bible says, he is God's Son and not God. On both times mentioned, it was after he prayed to his Father in heaven, that angels came to strengthen him. Jesus was not praying to himself as this theory would mean. Rather they are separate individuals. This is as the Bible shows in John 14:28 where Jesus says "My Father is greater than I am."

What makes you think that these "angels" are lower spirits? The word "angel" just means "messenger." Many human beings are called "angels" in the Bible. (Including John the Baptist, who was preaching in the wilderness where Jesus was tempted.)

Jesus was God in the flesh...he still had the weaknesses of man...he could get sick, he could bleed...heck he even died....
We as man call on angels/God for help all the time...why shouldn't Jesus?

In both cases, Jesus was exhausted. Remember that Jesus came to earth as a man, he also ate and drank as other men.

Because he was still just a man. He got hungry, cold, sad, thirsty...etc. He even had to use the restroom.
