Because as we grow as a species our technology grows with us. We now know some of the answers to life that we had to guess at before. Humans are a very superstitious bunch and we find conflict with what was once believed and what we are learning to be true. When living in a time like this with so much change happening it is like what happens to us all in our teenage years. We all know how confused and angry a teenager is.

The reason for all this confusion is now the time of god return it coming soon. Signs in the bibles are happening. Plus in this world we are only passing through, not 2 stay, this world don't know god, and it get worst by the second. its never ending confusion coz the devil it here 2 seek, kill, and destory anyone and everything. Confusion is good. Confusion leads to a search for answers which is ultimately enlightening in science art and everyday live.
Religion doesn't like confusion for that very reason. Thinking and religious dogma are opposites.

Why is there confusion? hm...I'd think it's because we're in a world that when we think something is certain someone whips around and points out a fact that makes our certainty wrong.

Because someone prayed for some material thing, didn't get it, therefore they no longer believe.
They didn't have enough faith to believe that if what they wanted/needed didn't happen it was for the best, instead they turn away from God, and start spouting he doesn't exist.
