I think you use the same definition of "unconditional" that I do. I wouldn't send a child of mine to a land of eternal punishment for stealing a pack of gum. This God some people follow would. I find that to be sickening.

God's love is unconditional. He made us all, therefore he loves us all. It's our love for God that is conditional. We get mad at God because the world isn't fair, and because he gives us rules. But if we follow none of his rules, we can't pretend we love him. Your birth parents gave you rules to follow; God created you, so if your parents have the right to give you rules, God definitely does.

Anyway- if you don't follow any of God's rules, and you don't love him, why would you want to be with him for eternity? That is what heaven is. Your choices build the kind of person you are. If you continually choose against God, no matter how much you may SAY you want to go to heaven, your thoughts, words and actions prove otherwise. (No one sane would actually want to go to hell, but if you don't really want to go to heaven, that's your only other option. Heaven is the presence of God, while hell is the absence of God. You can't have both.) So basically, if you want to be in the presence of God for eternity, it's up to you to prove it.

Either you accept God or you deny him. Those are the rules. You can follow the rules or not. It is your CHOICE. God's rules aren't hard to follow. Believe on his son, Jesus, Love him, love others, don't murder, don't steal, don't commit adultery, put your feet up and relax on the sabbath, don't covet your neighbor's stuff etc etc. What is so hard about that? I have rules in my house that my kids must live by. They are adults so if they don't follow the rules they must leave. I still love them but they made the choice to disobey.

No, and that's why he made hell as a place to put those evil souls who do not deserve the blessings that come with God's love.

No ones love is unconditional. Everyone has standards. Yours may be quite low, but you do have standards. I hope none of your kids ever sinks that low

Think of God like you're Dad, if you do something wrong, you have to get punished, BUT he still loves you.

Yes, God comes with rules and regulations. A lot of them make no sense at all.

love is interpreted as "follow my commandments" more than loving neighbor

if you are found to not behave socially, they threaten you with loss of eternal heaven

it's meant strictly for behavioral control
