I know your going to say, it was fiction, and yes, but, it still made people think about religion from a different view point. And definitely had us all looking at the photo of the last supper twice....

Man can be a model being, molded by perfect concepts and perfect action, yet be a dead zombie inside. Without the daily exercise, the spirit of understanding dies.

God is the only true teacher. Only what is revealed to the intellect of man, inwardly, passes the refreshing Light to man's body. As little and as slowly as it is, its illumination might be compared with all man's great knowledge. It possesses the only True Life and Growth from within.

There is evidence of horrific abuse suffered by those both in and out of the EB. They call themselves 'Christian Brethren' but, as is so often the case with insular religious cults, the truth is just the opposite.

What do christians and creationists think about them..?
Are you sympathetic or do you denounce cultism..?

My college professor told me that Beowulf was actually written by a 18th century polygamist interest in profiting on the revived interest in ancient books. Is that true? He said anyone who still thinks its like from the 11 century is naive or uneducated.

I don't feel the inventors of the idea of rapture had much faith in their ability to pass the final test so they made up a way to avoid it.

The whole point of the end of time prophesy is to test ones faith isn't it, if your not here whose faith is it testing? And I don’t think Gods testing your faith in him but your faith in yourself.

Ever noticed a liar thinks everyone else lies, a thief is always worried about someone stealing their stuff, someone that talks about others is always worried about others talking about them. I don’t feel a person with no faith in oneself could ever have faith in a God.

I feel all humans needs to be and will be here for this test.

What sets you apart from the rest of the world? Do you spend Sunday in church but live as the rest of the world during the week. Do you dress inappropriately to impress your pagan friends, speak vulgar language, love the material things of the world. Do you think of yourself more highly than you should.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 says:

14 Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said:

“I will live in them
and walk among them.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers,
and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord.
Don’t touch their filthy things,
and I will welcome you.
And I will be your Father,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.[d]”

Doesn't the Lord's Prayer ask:

Our Father, who art in heaven...yada yada...

...And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil...

Now prayers are, as I understand it, pleas to the sky god for guidance and assistance. Why is the prayer begging "Our Father" to NOT lead us into temptation, but rather to take us away FROM evil.

Why ask the sky god to stop tempting us?

Is he that wicked and such a trickster that he needs to tempt us? Is he continually tempting us? Isn't temptation evil? Isn't that Satan's job?

I am not speaking about the Christian myth, but you might as well draw on that story... Any comments?

I honestly can't say. I think that one I would consider would be to talk to my sister who passed away 9 yrs ago one more time. I would tell her just how much I love her and how I miss her and how she was a blessing to everyone around her. God Bless.

when people read this passage, they only read from 9-16, but it does not stop there. try reading the whole story, to me, i believe it was a test of faith.

I believe God was testing Peters faith, i do not believe God was cleansing all animals to eat. Think about it.

I sure would like to hear every ones opinions on this one.

"Heaven is totally overrated. It seems boring. Clouds, listening to people play the harp. It should be somewhere you can’t wait to go, like a luxury hotel. Maybe blue skies and soft music were enough to keep people in line in the 17th century, but Heaven has to step it up a bit. They're basically getting by because they only have to be better than Hell. -- Joel Stein, columnist for the Los Angeles Times."

Theists, be kind enough to share your thoughts on EXACTLY what heaven is and WHY anyone would want to go there? I realize the challenge, but that's exactly the point.

Man is lawless tiger. However, if he can be convinced that he is good-he will never raise a finger to attain the true goodness within.

If he is taught that everything is perfect, he sees the world through rosy spectacles, and his spirit is unable to rise to conquer.

Surely the secret of deceit is this clever method of disabling its prey.
If you know that the man you associate with is a crooked, and you recognize his plan to take advantage of you - your opponent is disabled !

Thus, one of the secrets of life is recognition of deceit and error, both in ourselves and in the world around us.

Once again I will give you my answer and see what your answers are.
I believe that the only one it hurts is YOU. The person you can't forgive has probably gone on with his/her lilfe. and does'nt even remember what he/she did or or didn't do.
We tend to make ourselves sick when we hold grudges aginst others. Judge not lest thee be Judged means to me, what ever judgement I put on someone else, I also put upon myself. But thats the Truth according to me!
Think about this, before you answer. Then tell me the Truth according to YOU …Mawdy

I was in a recent conversation with a fellow brother in Jesus Christ when we came to an interesting point in our conversation. I dont know how we stumbled unto this verse but it was a great discussion with it. 1 Corinthians 7:12-14, 12But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. 13And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. He was stating that the child would be holy unto the Lord, however, a verse popped into my mind to counter this verse though,Psalm 58:3The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.4Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear

OK, in the book of Genisis, Cain killed Able his brother, God then punishes him and sends him out into the "wilderness".
It says that he went and found a "wife". And that he(God) put a mark on his forehead so as no one would hurt him,(it was like a protection from God).
Anyway,....this is my question(and Iv'e wondered this for a long time) Who was this other wife that he found in the wilderness?? Who were these other people Cain was afraid were going to hurt him??? Where did they come from? I thought God created Adam and Eve?
OK, so it states they had TWO sons.......
Ok, so where did this "wife" and others come from???
I am not a racist any any way, but the only answer I ever got for this was, Cain went out to the wilderness, and all there was out there were Apes, and he mated with it, and this is where Black people come from...I know this sounds horrible, and I dont belive this is true, so can some one help me out?
