Because faith was what was lost, that is why the way back to God is through faith. Eve did not believe what God said, she had no faith in it. That is why faith is the way back. Sad most christians today don't belive it today. God said you shall noit touch it lest you die. Eve did not belive that and sadley most christians that teach that we die we are either in heaven with God. That is a lie. And it denies the Words of Jesus Himself that says the wages of sin is DEATH. Solomon says the dead no not anything. All are laid in the silence of death, and that is the blessed hope of true christianity to hope and long for the coming of Christ to raise us from among the grave unto new life, and to have a body like His. That is why God says precious in His sight is the death of His saints. Because they have gone to the grave in silence with the hope and assurance that they will live again, and that is precious because they didn't need proof, but believed by faith.

We have the written Word of God. The Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of God. It will guide us toward righteousness. We can read of His healing and teachings. We can also communicate with God through prayer. In addition, we are guided by the Holy Spirit who lives within the believer. We have guidance, instruction, and communication. The only thing we're lacking is physically seeing, but we have three other avenues that are just as, if not more, helpful.

There is NO MORE proof of the Civil War than there is of Jesus. In fact, you know about BOTH the Civil War AND Jesus in much the same ways:

1. Eye-witnesses
2. Written testimony
3. History

UNLIKE the Civil War that lives ONLY on this written testimony and hearsay; Jesus in fact DOES offer much proof of His existence. Are you telling me that you BELIEVE, but you've never FELT His presence? You've never SEEN His intervention. There are times Jesus is as real to me as any long-distance friend. Jesus is a righteous and awesome God, NOT some passive latent entity that sits idley by leaving you to believe or not believe based solely on the Bible and word of mouth. IF that's all you're getting from Him then you need to pray for more, my friend. "Why, why hath thou hidden your face from me? Please open my eyes to you! Please soften my heart to your presence! Please touch my life in real and tangible ways."

He does do that in my life. And I in fact have very personal proof of His existence. I see and feel Him daily. In my terrible sin He is there. In my goodness, He is there, pulling it out of me, CHALLENGING me to be better than I am on my own. He is NOT passive. Just ask Him!

He is not in hiding. But if there is a sale at the Ford dealership, you can't walk into the local Dodge place and expect to get that Ford deal. I have personally been miraculously healed 2 different times in my life and have been witness to countless others. God will NEVER force you, you have to go to Him willingly and THEN you WILL FIND HIM!!

why do we not get to see something from him?

You get to see something from Him when you see people whose lives have been changed as a result of their being born again in Christ Jesus. You get to see it for yourself when you turn from you sins and trust in Jesus for your salvation and God gives you his Holy Spirit.

I could give you a lot of links that would provide evidence of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus but God has to give you the gift of faith to believe it.

Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

He's not hidden... you have to remember "it is a wicked and adulterous generation that seeks a sign"
this doesn't mean there are no signs but if you are seeking one that you may believe you will never get it just as the Pharisees never did...

there was people who seen and did not believe, they ignored his miracles, and for the sake of religion and politics crucified him.
Jesus said " you believe because you have seen, blessed are them who see not yet believe"
we can not prove God by science it faith.
