OK, in the book of Genisis, Cain killed Able his brother, God then punishes him and sends him out into the "wilderness".
It says that he went and found a "wife". And that he(God) put a mark on his forehead so as no one would hurt him,(it was like a protection from God).
Anyway,....this is my question(and Iv'e wondered this for a long time) Who was this other wife that he found in the wilderness?? Who were these other people Cain was afraid were going to hurt him??? Where did they come from? I thought God created Adam and Eve?
OK, so it states they had TWO sons.......
Ok, so where did this "wife" and others come from???
I am not a racist any any way, but the only answer I ever got for this was, Cain went out to the wilderness, and all there was out there were Apes, and he mated with it, and this is where Black people come from...I know this sounds horrible, and I dont belive this is true, so can some one help me out?

Apparently, Adam and Eve gave birth to enough people to fill the entire city of Nod, unbeknownst to Cain that whole time, and inevitably he ended up shacking up with one of his close relatives. And moving out of his parents' place and getting a sex partner was, let's not forget, his punishment for killing his brother.

Makes sooooo much sense, doesn't it?

One story that would me more consistant with the writings is to say that humans were already created and living in the world and that Adam & Eve were just a special later occurance. That would also explain why there are 2 creation stories in the Bible. But no, Christians won't buy that!

We don't know how many children Adam and Eve had, but a couple can have an aweful lot of children in almost 1,000 years.....even if it was only 1 per year.....while their children are having other children ...it's multiplication and not just addition to the population.

It is believed that the world and even their blood was nearly perfect and thus their was no law against brothers and sisters marrying.
Gen 5:3-5

3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 5 Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died.
(from New International Version)

If the MARK was to make them "black".....it certainly did not protect the descendents of Cain. The "protection" seems to have been only for Cain...and NOT his descendents.

the short version:

God creates Adam and Eve
God says "be fruitful and multiply" which they did
Cain and Abel are born and grow up

the bible says that Adam and Eve had other sons and daughters.
By the time Cain and Abel were grown, there were alot of them, who obviously intermarried and spread out a bit.

Cain kills Abel, leaves town with a mark of some sort (NO ONE knows what the mark is, and it ISN"T black skin)

The reason Cain is upset is cause he knows he is heading into his cousin's / nieces / nephews etc territory.
He grabs a wife from one of these groups and continues on.

Really it's not complicated. If you do the math, two people reproducing in perfect "earth" conditions (no polution, radiation etc) would likely have twins and triples pretty fast...
Bible also says people lived way beyond 800 years at that time, so you can produce a lot of kin and it doesn't take long before you are so far removed from your great great nephews and nieces that it really doesn't matter anymore.

blessings :)

Great question...according to the Historian Josephus, Adam and Eve had 33 sons and 23 daughters. Adam and Eve get kicked out of the garden BEFORE they had children. We don't know how old they were, but we do know that they had other sons and daughters. Cain married a close relative. And it wasn't until the time of Moses (some 1200 years later) that God commanded that one should not married a close relative.

Wouldn't it have been something to hear Eve tell Cain, "Cain! Get off your brother! You're going to kill him some day!"

Clearly, Cain married a sister. We react against that idea today because of the many laws we have today concerning incestuous relationships. We have laws against incest because the children that result from that type of relationship are often afflicted with a genetic disease. This is because all of us carry detrimental recessive genes within our chromosomes. Closely related family members may carry similar if not the same set of recessive genes. When we marry within the family, those recessives can pair up and result in a child who is genetically handicapped. But in the original creation, there was no such problem. These were the originally created beings, there were no genetic mutations to worry about.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

In Genesis 1:26 God creates all of mankind and sends them throughout the earth. Be fruitful and multiply. That took place on earth. The creation of Adam and Eve took place in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve rebelled against God by eating the forbidden fruit. They were kicked out of the Garden of Eden and returned to earth. In their new found home here on earth Adam and Eve proceeded to produce a few children. But these children would also marry into the already established population of humans already here. It was here on earth that Cain would find a wife and he was marked so no one would harm him.
There was no cross breeding between Cain and animals.

It is believed that Adam and Eve had many children before Cain and Able. They name these 2 sons specifically because they were the first born after Adam and Eve messed up and ate the fruit. With this reasoning, Cain would have had sisters who would have possibly been in the wilderness when Adam and Eve were sent from the garden. This of course is speculation from the Gnostic Gospels All I can do is profess I do not know, and focus on the New Testament and Jesus.

Note that you rarely hear about the daughters born in the Old Testament. Adam and Eve may have had many daughters. Also seem possible that the story was about one family. Maybe there were others at the time.

The thing about blacks is a story made up. If true how did black survive the flood.

Yes ! that is kind of Gross! Adam and Eve were perfect, so ALL their sons and daughters were NEAR perfect. Intermarriage among brother and sister, and first cousins did not cause a genetic problem so close to perfection. Apes , by the way do not have compatible genetic structure to inter mate and reproduce!
Cains wife was a close human blood relative, sister, first cousin, because of the relative closeness to perfection, there was NO human imperfections to add to the mix!

No problem, remember that Adam and Eve had more than the 3 Children, and the others had migrated and formed cities in other places, so when Cain was forced to leave he went with others that had gone out before him.
