I do. He seemed to put his all into preaching the word starting out doing tent revivals on street corners until his ministry grew into what it is today. He set up meetings with United States presidents to tell them about Jesus. If I had a dollar for every person he preached to in his life I'm sure I'd be rich. He seems like he has always been a man of intergrity and was married to the same woman for 64 years. God bless him.

I can't decide. Life's great and all, but then again... life sucks.

I think I could do either.

Christians who talk about sin being bad for you and then sin are usually called hypocrites, for some ridiculous reason.

Alcoholics, drug addicts, etc, who talk about these things being bad for them and then slip back into old habits are called "recovering ******".

Smokers, who will admit that smoking is bad for them and do it anyway, ....well, I guess I can't think of anything to call them but I don't think of them as hypocrites.

So should Christians change what they are called to "recovering sinners" since Christianity is really for people who are recovering from sin to become better people?

there's a guy on my tv right now saying people who can tell the future are possesed by demons.
do any christians on here believe that? and if so, does this mean that joseph was possesed by demons when he predicted the 7 years of plenty followed by 7 years of famine in egypt?

I have seen Christians describe Hell as the absence of God or distance/separation from God. Althought Christians believe that God is always with us on earth, it is true that (hypothetically speaking) we are separated from God. Therefore I would conclude that 'Hell' is our life on this earth according to Christian belief.

Is this, perhaps, why Christians are so eager to 'get to Heaven'?

He says, "Truly, Truly I say to you. Before Abraham was born, I am..."

Is He saying that He existed well before Abraham, well before anyone else? If so, how does that work because it seems very confusing to me...

It seems to me that if some intelligence really was responsible for the creation of everything, more logic would have gone into it. Humans cannot subsist on a diet too heavy in one type of food and too light in another. Diabetics cannot have complex sugars in excess, for example, and vegans must take vitamin supplements or risk a whole host of diseases.

So it seems to me that there is no real order to the way of things. Humans may have gotten the larger brains and ability to reason, but we got short-changed in the diet department. If we eat too much of one thing, we get fat; too little of another, we risk disease; and there are some things that can kill us outright.

If there is a benevolent force in the universe that wants us to be happy, why can't we eat what we like with no ill effects? And if this force doesn't necessarily want us to be happy, why should I care what it thinks?

most of us laymen don't fully understand (or hope to) modern scientific theorems and principles in all their complexity. at some point we just "believe" a smart nobel laureate somewhere to have figured it out right. why not invest the same faith and effort in the teachings of some of our modern day religious/spiritual gurus who claim self-realization? why such a big deal about the scientific approach when its just a question of "faith" anyways?

I have this book called the Old Testament Challenge and I'm having some problems with a lot of the things it says and asks. I don't know if it's just because I'm Catholic and not used to certain ideas or what but I'd like to know if anyone else is having this problem too.

God gives me the strength to fight temptations on everything else except this one sin. I ask and pray for God to give me strength to overcome it, yet I still find myself compelled to do this sin anyway. I just can't seem to get rid of it, no matter how many times I give it over to God. What should I do? Are there any solutions. I am a new Christian so I am very inexperienced. Please help!

I've been resarching about different religions and most churches have preachers who take people's money for wrong reasons or are mostly hypocrites but this church doesn't. I mean nobody's perfect and we all have our share of problems but it's different with Jehovah's Witnesses.

God could have created a nice peaceful safe place for us to live. instead he "made" the universe about as hostile a living environment as possible.

The earth has earthquakes, tornadoes, volcanoes, mud slides, floods, tsunamis and a million other ways for us to be killed.

Our planet could at anytime be wiped out be a meteor, or supernova (if one were close enough to us).

If god created us and loves us why has he left us in such constant peril?
