There's no difference at all in terms of how a belief is supported by a believer. The "Underworld" exists just the same as "Heaven" exists; both are only real within the confines of the emotional imaginings of the believer...

"Wishful thinking" is exactly the term to be used in describing beliefs of this type, tha is, unless one is willing to name it a psychosis.

Hmmm. The Greco-Roman underworld, gods, etc were written by the Greek poets and are taught in universities everywhere as..................mythology.

Heaven, as described in the gospels, isn't. Nor is the Bible. There's a reason for this, obviously.

Besides, my English Literature professors realize the same reality of these things, and stated so numerous times.

Where do you think the idea of an underworld came from in the cultures of Greece and Rome? The Israelites in the diaspora.
