It would be almost impossible to list all the denominations,sects,break-off groups,etc
Basically there is Catholicism,Orthodoxy and Protestantism
There is one Catholic Church but many rites
There are Eastern Orthodoxy( with many jurisdictions) and Oriental Non Chalcedonian Orthodoxy(Copts Armenian etc) and Assyrian Orthodox
There are also Old Catholic groups
There are 3000+ Protestant groups that often differ widely from each other
There are a few subfamilies of Protestantism that have their conservative and liberal and "fundamentalist' and "modernist"sections and denominations
:
Anglican/Episcopalian
Lutheran
Reformed
Anabaptist Baptist
Methodist/Holiness
Pentecostal
"Other"
Try googling each of the subfamilies for many have websites
Stay away from anygroup that will not accept the teaching of the Nicene Creed if you want to be in "Historic Christianity"
Beliefnet may be a useful resource and the Yahoogroups too

It's really not possible to name all of the denominations and divisions, as definitions will vary. Where you and I might say there are simply "Lutherans," they might say that there are various synods.
The basics are these:
Catholicism;
Orthodox, which can include Russian, Greek, and others;
Lutheran;
English protestant, including Anglican, Episcopalian, Methodist, and Presbyterian;
Evangelicals, such as Baptist, Pentecostal, and many independent churches;
Latter Day Saints (Mormons);
"Colonies," by which I mean groups who most live apart from the rest of society--Mennonites, Amish, Shakers, etc.
Quakers and Unitarians, linked here because they are generally less outwardly "religious" in some ways.
That's really only scratching the surface. Your question can't really be reasonably answered in depth here.

Stay baptist, well of course that depends on what kind of baptist you are.
Christianity isn't measured by religion- but by your relationship with Jesus Christ.
The reason why I attend a baptist church is because they follow the Biblical Doctrine alot closer than any other denomination.
And They have services 3 times a week along with soul-winning. They go door to door tell people Jesus saves, I think that baptists are truly living the bible.

The first breakdown is between Catholic and Protestant.
Of the Protestants, you have Calvinists, Armenians, and Hyper-Calvinists.
In Calvinists, you have varying degrees of Presbyterian
In Armenian, you have Baptist, Methodist, and most of your "non denominational" or "Bible" churches.

Instead of looking at a particular denomination. Check out your local churches. Find a full Gospel, Bible believing Church. Any church that contradicts God's Word is a false church. Praying you find a good church!
