You know it must be a new trend because lately I've been getting so many thumbs down and a few very innocent answers were flagged so I am up to 2 violations this week...
I wish if people had a problem with your answer or question that they would at least have the courage to email you and let you know why...
I agree with you that Yahoo should definitely read the answers or questions before having them removed, I also think they should get back to you when you challenge these violations.

I've had my answers removed twice and couldn't figure out why. Then I did some deep soul searching and, Oh yeah! What I inadvertently did both times was tell someone how to break the law and get away with it. Sometimes I think we have to look a little closer at what we are doing before we post. I'm glad they are Johnny on the spot and doing what they do. If this site doesn't stay sanitary we will all be in trouble and maybe it would have to shut down.

We already accuse them of every kind of bias known, if it was known that someone actually chose to remove a comment it would not go down very well.
I hate the way it works too, the best thing would at least be to have a way of challenging a violation. But they like their automatic system too much I think.

well the first thing i will ask you is, what was this perspective you were giving? the next thing is i think its all computer based. that is to say i dont think anybody ever looks things over, the computer notices that you got so many violation notices that it deletes it.

I don't think there are any faces behind the link where questions or comments are reported, just bots. I'm presuming the real people who work for Yahoo are out down the pub enjoying all the money we generate for them to keep them in the lifestyle they've become accustomed to.

I received a violation notice for telling someone it was hypocritical of her to be offended when people told her she was going to hell when she had said she did the same thing. (She felt that it was fine for HER to say that to people.)
She wanted to be able to tell people that but did not want them to tell her the same things.
And I am a Christian!

Make sure you write back to those notices and explain why you feel it is not a violation of community guidelines.. they may remove the violation.

I honestly think they should do away with the abuse reporting system altogether.
Just let us block people from answering our questions if they're trolls, and if they're blocked, we don't see their questions either.
Restore the thumbs down for questions.
And stop trying to please everyone's tastes with some impossibly obscure terms of service and community guidelines that punish people for innocent issues while letting others go gallivanting along willy-nilly.
Sorry you got reported.
