why is it that SOME Christians spend more time preaching against other faiths instead of practicing their own? on this site, anyways. i see some people who claim to be a follower of Christ who do nothing but bad-mouth those who don't agree with them.

also, have you had any personal experiences like this? perhaps when you went to church one time, and the minister/preacher spent more time talking about what was "wrong" about other churches?

OK, so yesterday, I asked a series of questions directed toward believers in Christ about sex and premarital sex. I received many very good answers; however, as I'm reviewing them to chose best answers, I've encountered a number of disturbing and contradictory statements.

1) One person said that sex does not equate love. This came after several people had said that giving your body sexually to your husband or wife is the greatest expression of love. While I personally believe that sex does not equate love, I'm curious what the actual Biblical stance is on this. Anyone?

2) Several people said that premarital sex causes nothing but problems and misery. Having had premarital sex . . . . I've had only one moment of misery come from it, and that moment became a defining moment of my life and who I am. So, who has had premarital sex? Are you in misery because of it?

3) Lastly, if sexuality is a gift from God, how could it ever end in misery?

despite their much-repeated assertion, it is very hard to credit that Islam is religion of peace. Yazidis are a pre-islamic religious group, but the muslims massacred them calling them kafirs!! Most of the modern Laws are created on the base of Christian moral. If there were no Law Enforcement Agencies would nonbelievers have any moral or they would simply go around raping everything that moves and killing others for fun etc? What would be stopping us from destroying each other as we are perfectly evolved killing machines?

I asked, who married Adam & Eve since there was no Priest or Pasta around? Paper wasnt around then & there is NO proof of a marriage certificate anywhere. How could they "already be married"? Does that mean that, just because ive been with my boyfriend for 3yrs now, we're already married? How could Cod have married them? Did he have a magic license or did he make the rules up as he went? I doubt there was anything like a Preist or anything back then. Doesnt that mean that THEY had premarital sex? And, about the forbidden fruit, wasnt that magic mushrooms? My book of Cod tells me that Adam & Eve Smith were never married & they had sex. Eve got pregnant & Adam got cold feet & took off with Steve. Adam & Steve went to the pub, got drunk & ate the forbidden fruit - magic mushrooms.

Is this true? My book says it is.

I ask this as I just read this part "you must kill him, your hand must strike the first blow in putting him to death and the hands of the rest of the people following. You must stone him to death,since he has tried to divert you from Yahweh your God" which is talking about non-belivers. I certainly wouldn't follow this, so is there any more I shouldn't follow? Or is it best I just don't bother with the whole thing and use my own judgement in life :D

The dominance of Cod? Why do they restrict their lives in so many ways for a book that has been re written so many times, it should be called a fake?
Have you religious people ever stopped to think that MAYBE it was written as a joke to see how many of you would be silly enough to restrict yourselves from enjoying everything life has to offer like gambling, premarital sex, alcohol & clubbing? You only live once. May aswell enjoy it while you can.

Funny thing is, I don't know what they honestly hope to achieve by spouting such nonsense.

Do they seem to think psychiatrists are miracle-workers? Do they suppose that the person in question even WANTS "help"? Do they suppose that it is helpful to turn a unique and independant individual into another clone like the ones routinely churned out of the people-factory we call common society?

I mean... It gives me a certain sense of power to know I can say something about unusual (like a while back when I commented on needing blood on my hands to feel real)... and I'll get the usual flock of bleating morons coming through, telling me I need help / should get help....

Maybe someone needs to tell them in no uncertain terms.... that if millions of people from all walks of life cannot convince me to be normal..... that one perfectly mundane psychiatrist isn't going to make a shred of difference.
