And in Peru, some Roman Catholics in Churches in honor of this day got buried in the rubble. Since it was at 6:40pm, Wednesday, Aug.15.

Do you think this means something? Or is it a coincidence?

If the Devil would have won the war in Heaven and God was tossed into the Fiery pit, would that make the Devil good and God evil?
No slander suggested I'm just curious on your perceptions!

The kind of woman meant for you and me Came never from the riven side of man, But rose in splendor from the warm blue sea On that grey morning when the world began. Goddess of love and wisdom, fright and lust, Knowing not good or evil, yet divine, She knelt to clothe her glory in the dust To form the living altar and shrine Between whose pillars mans first sacrifice was nightly poured to feed creations flame,Before the priests with fable's crude device, Sought to conceal the source from which we came. So let us pray forgiveness and return To our first temples, there to love and learn.

in one of the previous question.

This person wanted to know why they should love a God whose terms are pretty much what I just quoted.

Christians, how do you respond (Where is that Nun avatar when you need her, she's so insightful) to this remark. What can you offer against this?

I was raised Catholic and that was all well and good for a while but then I decide that devotion to God and his son should be perceived through multiple perspectives and not just on sect.

Thus I chose to become a non-denominational Christian.

I started reading the Bible and examined it EXTREMELY thoroughly (I do this often, breaking things down to the finest detail) and was doing well until I got to Duetoronomy. I guess you could say that chapter changed my life.

In Duetoronomy we're asked to stone disobedient children, force women to marry the men who rape them and do other things that waaay back when seemed appropriate.

I quickly skimmed through most of the rest and found that there are a lot of inconsistancies in the Bible that not only challenged my faith but made me understand why people are critical of our religion.

After doing that, I started analyzing my own life and realizing that I was doing things out of routine and not out of love and faith for God...

I asked this to myself the other day, and I came to the conclusion that I really have no business being here anymore. I think I've gotten all I can out of this section...plus my liver is seriously about to fail any day now.

Adieu, maybe I'll return again in another 3 months like I did last time. Those that want to keep in touch can hit the 360 or drop me an email on here whenever you like.

So who wants my Top Contributor button?

Use the concept of ancient "common ancestor" and apply the same evolutionary question to "man" and "apes".

If you're a fundie, re-read the question.

If you're anybody else, have a drink.

in hebrews 6:4 are they recrucifying christ because they are persecuting him and acting against him, and while they do that they cannot repent, or are they trying to repent after blaspheming his spirit and they cannot because his sacrifice was only once for the sins of the world, as if there is a sin beyound that.

I would like to go back to the oldest available greek text to make this clear.

According to what is written in the New Testament (you don't need to be a Christian to answer), what did Jesus teach?

In other words, whether your Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu or whatever, what is your take on Jesus' teachings according to the New Testament?

And before you just answer yes without thinking about it, tell me if it is illegal in your area to
Be Hindu, atheist, etc
Make graven images
Work on Saturday
Use God's name in vain
Dishonor your parents
Covet your neighbor's livestock.

Also tell me if it illegal to rape someone where you live, and if so, which commandment covers that. Same question for kidnapping and assault.

Finally, tell me if you can if any other country has had laws against murder, theft, or perjury before having contact with Christians or Jews.

By the way - those last three I just mentioned are the only commandments to make it into our law! If our law is based on the ten commandments, that's a pretty slim connection.
