God has already won the battle, through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus. All those who believe in Jesus, the Son of God, will be saved and will go to be with Him. Those who do not believe will join the devil and his angels in hell. Read the Bible for yourself and see. It's all in there and, believe me, it's all true. Read John's gospel and the Revelation. God will help you to understand it. God bless you, Wol

He has an audience but doesn't seem like He needs any help.
Remember He IS THE WORD OF GOD in the Flesh. His Word is sharp and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword Hebrew 4:12
Rev 19:11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.
Rev 19:12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself.
Rev 19:13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.
Rev 19:14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses.
Rev 19:15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.
Rev 19:16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

No, we will not. The Lord already has an army. The angels serve as God's messenger and army. They will fight the final battle just as they have already fought Satan and thrown him from heaven.

Revelation 19:1-21.
On verse 20 the scripture simply says that the Beast was bound but it doesn't specify by who.
Perhaps, it is most likely we're just gonna roll with Jesus and He's gonna do all the hard work (v.21). It's gonna be an entourage type of deal for us.

I believe that all those that chose to follow God will be fighting along with Michael, the Arch Angel. They'll be fighting with the power of God. I just hope that I'm one of those fighting on God's side - hee hee. I don't know all of the details because there's not enough information about it.

Discern first the true nature and character of the Lord in heaven, forgetting the ignorances of man as to what that is, and you will have your "answer."

We don't go to heaven when we die. We wait in the grave until the second resurrection.
Those who are raised in the first resurrection (the 144,000) will be the rulers of the church that Christ will be bringing back. I don't know if those 144,000 will be fighting with him or not.
But, we will not go to heaven. That is for the angelic beings. God is creating a new heaven and a new earth. The new earth is for those "worthy" of heaven. Why else would he be creating it?

I think the victory will be very quick and decisive; the language in Revelation 19 is most likely parabolic.

Why does an omnipotent being need an army in the first place?

In my opinion yes God is tired of the crap we did in our lives on earth so he is going to put us in the army to do his bidding as punishment for our sins, war is hell after all.
