I'm not sure how many evangelical Christians left their flocks after the exorbitant salaries and lifestyles garnered by Jerry Falwell, Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker (Messner), Jimmy Swaggart, Pat Robertson, Oral Roberts (Give $8 million or God calls me home). Although all of those listed may be a net benefit to the world, their financial situations make them an easy target.

I know that your question is in reference to one asked about the LDS church. All LDS authorities from the President to Bishop are unpaid, as the Old & New Testaments teach. The LDS church has a separate, non-religious corporation that makes investments with venture capitalist money, not from church funds or tithing. No LDS authorities profit from it.

No, because I trust in how they use the money. I did research before becoming LDS and trust the church to use the money wisely.
