Your heart dropped? What the hell does that even mean? Are you gonna die now? You might want to head over to the hospital. A dropping heart sounds somewhat...lethal.

My brother in law was just recently in a major accident at work, an explosion. 85% of his body received 3rd degree burns. My mom being a nurse said he would surely die, and honestly people should be praying that he does, for living a life in that condition would be horrible. Well 2 and a half months later he's still alive. I can't even imagine his pain. If he gets through this, if he lives the rest of his life as a horrendously scared handicapped individual, how can you preach to him? Seriously, I'd love to hear you say these things to him. "You're going to hell!" I bet his response would be, yea, been there done that.
The point being that hell simply isn't necessary, this life is miserable enough for a lot of people. Talk to the people in Darfur or Uganda, see what they have to say about it. What purpose does hell even serve? So you think Saddam is in hell forever? Why forever, let alone at all? It sounds pretty unproductive to me, and I think your all knowing all powerful god could come up with something more effective and efficient than a fiery prison.

What would be the best way to control a whole bunch of people?
How about... say there is some Holy Power that will rain fire down upon your head if you don't do what we say?
Hmm... seems like a really good way of keeping simple minded people in line while making a particular class of upper clergymen quite rich.
Another question: would you still believe in God if you had not been raised to do so? What if you had no religions impressing upon you whatsoever until now, would you choose to believe in God?
Of course you will say yes, because you are programmed to never even think of denouncing your religion.

Where to start with this one.... As less than 33% of humanity claims to be Christian and probably a good chunk of those that claim to be aren't; the hypothesis would be that most of the near death experiences would be similar to this one, espcially in non-christian cultures. From a casual prespective, I've heard of many that are not and this is the only one that indicates hell in one. Granted this is a casual survey and not an exhaustive one.
Second, in near death experiences the brain is in a oxygen deprived state, similar to when sleeping, the rational filters are not working i.e. it has no way of knowing reality from imagination/subconsicious thought.
Thirdly, I think any serious Biblical scholar would be hesitant to place hell in the earth's core, I thought that explanation went out with the middle ages.

This story is based purely on fiction and coincidence, also on distorting scientific fact with reality. The man, who thought he was "in hell", was actually suffering from trauma and shock, and was disillusioned at the time, as he thought he was dying. Human beings tend to resort back to their worst fears when faced with a situation such as this.
Hmmm... fear. Now that's a big thing for you Christians, isn't it?
Honey, you have no proof of anything that you believe in, except that you feel, in your heart, that it is so. That's it. A feeling. A gist. A guess. A theory. So how in God's name (haha, quite literally...) can you spout off "It is true" and "it does exist" while showing us some silly little fanatical fear-mongerring website?
You can't. You shouldn't.
No one cares.
Have a happy day.

I was born a baptist and yes I agree that belief is somewhat in the way you are raised. I believe that this world had to start somewhere. That there is a power greater then we are. I believe that the one we should fear is the LORD! With out him there would be no HELL! By fearing the lord should make a person believe in the bible.I'm not a church goer but I do believe in hell and hope and pray I don't end up there.I feel sorry for the souls that do.

That website uses a reporter's comment about the Mount Saint Helen's eruption as a source and that's not even the worst part.
I really really really think that that website is just a bunch of bull.
If hell physically exists, where is heaven, in the clouds? Do you have any websites that have pilots seeing images of angels in the clouds as a source?

Boo! And do you know now there is proof that beyond the hot magma layer the earth is cool?
Really honey, you've got to stop believing all these scare tactics. They're exactly how the bible and religion was promoted in the first place.
I respect your strength of religion but can see the psychology of this propaganda. Apparently it worked.
Blessed Be

It had fake articles as sources. No, I still do not believe.
Christianity is not the only religion. There are 10,000 more, but mommy didn't tell you about those.
LOL, thanks for pointing out "When Mount St. Helens erupted in May 18, 1980, it was described by reporters, "when HELL surfaced upon the earth." kdude421
I was camping on the opposite side. It was a bunch of ash and those reporters were not there.

"Drilling into Hell " is an exploded urban legend.
That anyone can believe it speaks of naivety at best, and the likelihood that they might believe *anything* that matched their predisposition or emotional state.
To use it as "evidence" on a website undermines any other argument that might be presented there.
Please, please, just mix a gram of scepticism with your enthusiasm.
(You don't believe that Noah's ark has been found, do you?)
