Of course, collectors would in a heartbeat.
Its over 800 years old, and has an incredible amount of history attached to it.
I've seen people spend alot more than that on way more stupid stuff, like the Mayor
of Philadelphia spent $5000.00 on his front
door knob.

Even though there is a medieval flare to it, with the bones of Jesus showing through his skin, the intricacy in detail is immaculate. It is very well preserved for having been in a garbage heap, and God knows where else for years and years...

The value is in the artistic preservation and history behind the crucifix...and I would be surprised if the woman who had it will get a dime, because most of the time the art that has been stolen and found from Hitler's regime reverts back to the original owner's family without question as long as they have proof of ownership.

I wouldn't spend $530,000+ dollars or 400,000 euros on it.

that doesn't mean it is trash and it doesn't mean it is not worth it.

it is a peice of history and art. quite honestly it belongs in a museum it is 800 YEARS OLD.

just because a piece of history is also a religious symbol to some does not mean that it does not deserve respect or recognition as a peice of history or work of art.

would you crap on the roof of sisteen chapel because it was a chapel?

I probably wouldn't as I don't have that much spare cash. On the other hand, as a part of history I'd like to see it in a museum.

Someone will. Some people have so much money, that would be a drop in the bucket. I'm sure someone stole it and then found out how hard it is to get rid of that kind of thing.

It would actually be a great investment. If I was filthy rich I'd probably collect various historical artifacts.

I would if I could then turn around and sell it for $500,000 after having it for a year.
