I am just wondering from what were they translated from? I know several people say the Dead sea scrolls, and other , but still when was paper invented? or language and the ability to write, so how can you be so sure how creation started?

so if I am understanding that paper was around before the bible, shouldn't Adam have started documenting things?

I was not questioning the flood, for that did happen, but the accuracy of stories passed down generation after generation. Could there not be room for error?

The very first copy of the original books has not been found, and is not likely to be.
For many years the books were copied onto rolls of sheep skin. The coping was a very careful process where if a mistake in a single letter was made then the section was cut out and replaced, and in some cases the entire scroll was destroyed.
On of the significances of the dead sea scrolls id that comparing those scrolls to current copies shows that there are no errors in the current ones.
This doesn't indicate however that the original books didn't undergo edits, omissions, or inclusions in the early days after authorship, much of that history is lost.

The creation account was recorded in the Bible by Moses and was written on papyrus. Since Moses was trained as a Egyptian prince he would have been skilled at making such a simple thing. To make papyrus you cut the papyrus stems into strips. The fibrous layers were pulled away. 2 layers of the prepared strips were pressed together, cris-crossing the other. This was dampened and banged together, which is held together with sap.
Edited: I would assume that Adam passed on history verbally to his children. The fall and the early earth history would have been know by many people prior to the flood. Since only 8 people survived the flood they would have been the only ones to have passed on a verbal history. Interesting enough the story of Noah's flood has been found in many cultures showing that this account was passed down by the descendants of Noah. Dr. Duane Gish, in Dinosaurs by Design, says that there are more then 270 stores from different part of the world about a devastating flood. One that is very striking is from China, where we find that a man named Fuhi, his wife his three sons and three daughters were the only ones to escape a worldwide flood. Then there is a story which comes from Hawaii which tells us that the world became a wicked evil place and Nu-u made a large canoe roofed over like a house and filled it with animals, and was the only ones to escape a worldwide flood.

Sheepskin, reeds and even copper. Papyrus is reeds (plant stalks) layed crosswise. The Egyptians were using papyrus over 4000 years ago.
God gave the creation story to Noah and Noah brought it through the Great Flood. God gave it to Moses who wrote the first 5 books of the Old Testament.

Paper was around long before the penning of the bible, but the majority of it was written on vellum, which was animal skin. Paper was, believe it or not, much more valuable and rare in those times.
