In the morning? At night? Everyday? Every other day? Only in church? Before meals? Only before dinner? With family? Alone? Only in moments of sadness and trouble or in happy moments too?

Do you ask? Do you thank? Do you repeat words by heart? Do you talk? Do you listen?

I pray in the shower, before bed, driving, and any time I feel like. I also pray with my family before dinner. I pray in my husband's church and I pray in my spiritist's meetings. I ask and be thankful. I always listen to the answer that sometimes comes in dreams.

What is your experience with prayer?

I have been a messed up wreck for the past 5 years. I'm a born again Christian but I still maintain to get caught up in the devils work. I just recently got into some trouble with the law and I am still addicted to marijuana. I always tell myself that I'm going to do better, but it never gets better. I need help and I need to do better by sticking to my word. Can someone help me please!

Please no jokes for I am very serious about the life I have been living lately.....this is not a joke for me so please don't make rude comments.

As in the form of man, Jesus has younger brothers: James, Joses, Juda and Simon. Jesus got also younger sisters.

Mark 6:3
After he was born, Jesus did have brothers and sisters. The book of James was written by his brother, James. They were all younger than him. for obvious reasons.

SO SHE ISN'T AS PURE AS YOU THINK?

God is not our nanny. He isn't here to protect us from every danger. Why do people blame God every time something bad happens? Don't you know God makes these things happen as a reminder that we should all turn to him?

"When disaster comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it?"
Amos 3:6

God is not like a nice grandfather. He is not there to please everyone. We are the one who have to please him. He has great expectations from us.

"It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
Hebrews 10:31

If we don't turn to him and do what he asks, we can only expect a terrible judgment to fall on us.

therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down,
and cast into the fire.

I have been faithfuly going to church and have even got saved and became a christian. I read the bible everyday and I pray also. My children also have been saved and read the bible and pray and go to church. Is there anything else we should be doing? After all of this we seem to be struggling and people from my church said it is the devil trying to work on my home?

If you look at somebody with lust you are supposed to already have commited adultery in your heart but isn't it just human nature to be attracted to the opposite sex? What are you supposed to do pray for forgiveness every time you find somebody appealing? So then have I in fact broke the commandment? Any insight would be helpfull.

Ive just started reading 'Entangled Minds' by Dean Radin (its about the interconnectedness between us all & the entanglement of minds. Very interesting.)
Im also reading 'The mind body bible' by Dr Mark Atkinson, (which is obviously about the relationship between the health of the body & mind as one.)

What are you reading at the moment & what is it about so far?

Paul wrote these letters to individual churches to address specific problems they were having. Some of the advice applies to us all, and some is clearly a cultural matter.

For example in 1 Timothy Paul writes:
"I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes..."

Does this mean it is a sin to braid your hair? No. In the culture he was writing to, braided hair was a sign of prostitution. Paul is basically saying: don’t dress like a street walker.

I think that the epistles have some great guidelines for right-living, but clearly should be read with a mind open to the state of the culture and specific churches they were originally written to.

Agree or disagree?

Many people talk about a non-Christian religion
being “evil” or “Satanic”, or a “false religion”.
In reality, what would constitute a “false
religion”, a religion that spreads untruths and
“evil”?
Let us look at this logically, setting aside all
religious texts. Presumably a false religion
would need to suppress any other religion,
especially one that could beat it in popularity.
Beliefs other than the false religion would
pose a huge threat to the unimpeded spread
of the false religion.
The spread of the false religion would have to
be ruthless. Those responsible for spreading
the religion would need to ensure that people
converted or were silenced—to leave a large
number of unconverted people could cause
problems as alternate views are expressed
and spread, possibly pulling people away
from the false religion.

When disasters happen in Christian areas is it because God was answering the prayers of Christians to strike down homosexuals?

Did He know there was one in there somewhere, lob in a disaster to take him out and harvest all the heterosexuals nearby as peripheral damages?

Christians, you tell us countless times daily God is going to strike down non-believers and Rapture you up.

Are you trying to hedge your bets by praying for it?

Eternal Life(Only) is not Life + Death.
His Grace is not both Grace + Law.

Life in CJ is temporal Life + Death.
Life in JC is eternal Life(Only).

Perhaps CJ ppl forget the law is both:
- the ministration of condemnation, AND
- the ministration of death: 2Corinthians3
So they go with another law of Rom 8 law vs law,
and after all who will live godly in CJ shall "suffer",
they end up dead from the ministration of death: law.

E-Salvation & Peace with God are "through J-->C".
C: "is the end of the law", not the mend of the law.
For no matter how much law is ammended,
it's eventually "the ministration of death",
after it causes suffering and sorrows.

Law: Mend it or End it?
C is the end of the law!
C is our peace: Eph 2.

Most of us do not use terms such as 'photocopy' or 'cotton swab'; we use 'Xerox' and 'Q-tip', proper terms that have come to universally symbolize a specific thing.

Do you believe that many people who claim Christianity do indeed believe in God, but yet don't understand the "ins and outs" of the faith? That it is a term chosen simply out of convenience, not understanding?

They read some book, have a feeling that "god" exists, where raised to believe in him, it doesn't make sense to me. I read books and study all religions because I am interested in the way people think. I have found nothing that has "told" me "god" exists.

Serious, non you-gotta-have-faith answers please.

Last night, I was talking with a friend of mine who is a Christian, and knows that I'm an atheist. A few days ago, we decided to exchange some ideas in the forms of a book and a CD; I gave him my copy of 'Letter To A Christian Nation', and he gave me a CD of a sermon recently recorded at his church.

The following is a summary of our dialogue as I was leaving last night :

Him : "Let me know what you think, and if you're ever interested in attending church with me, tell me."

Me : "I'll let you know. Church isn't really my thing."

Him : "Lots of women there...!"

Me : "Dude, I'm an atheist, and even I know that's not the reason to attend church."

Did I misconstrue or read too much into his comment, or is sex a new angle for recruiting people to attend church? Opinions from all are welcome.

Or to put it more simply.... people seem to view everything in black and white..... when perhaps they should be viewing it in shades of gray.

Unless a binomial is strictly stated beforehand, I cannot think of a single situation where "Not A, therefore B" would be a valid judgement.
So why do people do it so often?

If I'm not a woman I must be a man?
Not if I'm an androgyne or hermaphrodite.

If I'm not heterosexual I must be gay?
Not if I'm bisexual or asexual.

If not left then it must be right?
Not if you count forwards, backwards, up, down or any of the diagonals.

If I'm not totally right then I must be totally wrong?
Never.

If I'm not totally wrong then I must be totally right?
Likewise... NEVER.

And I dare anyone to test me on this.

their is alot of science in the bible already according to this site? http://www.clarifyingchristianity.com/science.shtml
We all know that satan mimics God and I believe that's why we have so much "science" that goes against God's word. Satan biggest lie is getting people to think he doesn't exist.
