I have been faithfuly going to church and have even got saved and became a christian. I read the bible everyday and I pray also. My children also have been saved and read the bible and pray and go to church. Is there anything else we should be doing? After all of this we seem to be struggling and people from my church said it is the devil trying to work on my home?

Satan will definitely fight you. He will do any thing he can to try to pull you away from Jesus. Things will get better have patience and trust in the Lord.

Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Maybe you should take a proactive approach and go to counseling or something (non religious). That way you can work towards improving your situation instead of just passively praying and blaming the "devil". That is the easy way out. What are YOU doing to affect your own situation, what is your personal responsibility. If church and the bible helps you, then great, but don't use it as a crutch.

It's true that satan absolutely does not like it when people
turn to God. Tell satan he will just have to get used to
it (disappointment for him)! Read the book of Job! Job got angry with God, but refused to "curse God and die" like his wife told him to
do before she left him. Job was rewarded 3 times as
much as he lost. He was always very sincere and real towards God and got all the answers he was looking for. Remember, you were bought with a great price in
Jesus your redeemer!
You can expect the very, very best in Him.
Build up your faith! Also read Hebrews chapter 11
on faith.
I hope that was encouraging and pray that you
will be strengthened and hopeful this day!
Amen.

The things people ascribe to the devil are sometimes plain silly. Don't listen to them. If you are struggling financially it doesn't mean that you or your family are in the wrong. Life isn't always easy, it's a fact.

Also, you don't need to 'do' things to appease God. You can rest in what he has already done for you.

The life of the Christian is the hardest (but most fulfilling) life you could live! The Bible promises struggle and trials for those who follow Christ (James 1). The fact of the matter is, God is bringing conflict and problems into your lives so you'll learn to put more and more trust in Him. It's out of love, because He wants to make you stronger.

You could talk to a psychiatrist about Zyprexa (use only as directed). It's a very efficient treatment for schizoid delusional mental disorders. This treatment, in connection with education will help you to get rid of religious superstitions and join the modern world. You and your family will greatly benefit from that.

This is a good time to talk to your pastor. You'll find a lot more help there than you will here on Y!A.

You can start by not reading the bible so much and maybe not listen to what other people say.
