I kept reading it in here and so asked if this is true. I was told no it is no true we do not believe we are going to be raptured out.
Matthew 24;21 where it speaks of the great tribulation says if god didn't but it short no flesh would be saved alive, on account of the chosen ones it will be cut short.
so some people will be alive on this earth after the great tribulation. That is what they believe.
So unless I understood it wrong they do not believe they are going to meet the Lord in the air. They do however believe in a paradise earth and they will live forever on the earth.
NOw, am I wrong? Don't they all believe the same or do some believe in a rapture?

..
I'm religious minded to a limited extent.

I feel it is a private privilege, a right & should start & end there

& not go any farther.

But some take Spreading their religion as their life's mission. It is not to my liking, to say the least.

What about you, Members of The Think-Tank ?

I'm all ears ( rather eyes!) !

American life is so fixated on commercialization, and 'pop culture', It is sad....

Pop culture to me is when you nueter life. Take everything passionate and rich about life, hack it off until you have a bunch corporate, fake, plastic bull s***, and thats 'pop culture'. We Americans are so centralized on 'celebrities' and this idea that the greatest achievement in life is to be on T.V. I'm sick of it all, Nothing in this country is real anymore, It is all just a scheme for corporations to make you work your *** off at work just blow your money on lottery tickets and overpriced, unnecessary, cheap products until you die.

Ok, I will stop going off for now, what do you guys think? Do we need to revolutionize this country into a neo-enlightenment era, and re-allow the presence of philosophy and art and liberty to entitle our culture?

I just had lunch with my best friend, her girlfriend, and her cousin. My best friend's girlfriend (Tonya) was very sheltered growing up and her mother is a devout Southern Baptist. The subject came up that I am an atheist and Tonya said "You are not atheist" in an incredulous tone. Here is the dialogue:

Tonya: "You are not an atheist."
Me: "Yes, I am"
Tonya: "No you're not."
Me: "Why is that so unbelievable?"
Tonya: "Because...You don't worship the devil!"
Me: "Atheists don't worship the devil. We don't even believe in the devil...Honey, did your mom tell you that atheists worship the devil?"
Tonya: "No, my friend told me that she snuck into an atheist church and they worshiped the devil."
Me: "Atheists don't believe in the devil. (I then proceed to explain the definition of 'atheist'.) Atheism is, by definition, nothing more than a lack of belief."
Tonya: "Then why do they have churches?"
Me: "We don't have churches. Atheism is not a religion."

I heard somewhere that in the same book of the bible which state that it is an abomination to lie with a man as with a woman, it also states it is an abomination to eat shellfish? I never read the bible so I don't know.

If God knows I am, say, going to h*ll, then why create me at all knowing I will suffer eternal d@mnation? I know about free will, but if he knows the outcome, then free will is worthless. Just wondering

I don't mean one of those one sided conversations where you do all the talking and Jesus sit quietly listening. I mean proper

Hello Jesus,
Hello Bob , see the football last night?
Yes Jesus I did.
Well that last minute goal from 50 yards out.
Yes Jesus
That was me that was. Done something similar for Geoff Hurst years ago.
Wow Jesus isn't that against the laws on match fixing?
Nah, act of God innit!

There are a number of wars in the Middle East right now that we (the Allies) are involved in. Iraq, Afghanistan, there are more.

We supply weapons to some, we are in active combat with others. You all know this anyway.

When on the subject of these wars, though, I have noticed that our 'leaders' have a tendency of mentioning the Christian God in their speeches.

I hope someone can offer actual quotes below when they answer, to give a better understanding.

Would that not be a case of saying that God endorses our side, and that it is done in His name?

So why do we (the West) constantly deny a war on Islam, when it's obviously Christians against SOMEONE?

Please note: No non-Christian I know supports this war. Come to think of it, there's very few Christians I know who do either.

We all support the troops though. They are the innocent ones in all of this.

Wiccans and witches... I understand that Wiccans have a code of ethics whereby doing harm or interfering with another person's will is considered wrong. This, to me, would then greatly reduce the number of spells that an ethical witch could perform.

I was very stressed out the other day (feeling better now, because I'm taking herbs and vitamins) and I was wondering if a Wiccan could perform a spell on me to stop my heart and mind racing with stress.

It is usual for a Wiccan to do spells to change him/herself, rather than other people?

If you feel so inclined, would you please share an experience when you have done a spell on yourself, to improve yourself or some inanimate aspect of your environment?
