It would probably keep them from returning, if that is your goal.
Personally, I usually explain to them that I have established my beliefs and am not looking for a change....it is far less confrontational.

Don't worry, they have heard that many times before like other Mormons have. We know what's right and what's not and we know that we are not a cult. You can still try to tell them if you want, in response from them, you will have a clear explanation of why we are not a cult and that we are Christians. Missionaries are great and very nice people.

No, do what I do; Tell the Mormon missionaries that you are a Jehovah's Witness. They will then immediately stop spewing Joey Smith propaganda and promptly go away.
Then if the JWs come to visit, just do the opposite; tell them you are Mormon. These two methods work pretty well.
I occasionally worry that I might get to the afterlife and have God tell me he is Satan and then I go to the other place and Satan will tell me he is God... Oh wait a minute, thats how it is here on Earth.

Won't make any difference. The word "cult" can be used in many ways...originally it was used to mean anything non-Christian and Mormons will tell you that they are Christian. So it all really comes down to how YOU define a cult.

You could, but it is such a pejorative word and has so many contextual meanings that it is almost useless. I prefer to invite them in, show them that my Christian views and their Mormon views are not the same, and that one of us must be wrong, or we both are. Then, I start in the differences and talk about why I believe I am correct and why I think they are not. Then it is all about discussing the differences and seeing who has a leg to stand on.

I wish they would come to my door, I would like to ask them what fact they base their beliefs on, as a matter of fact I would enjoy debating anyone any time on anything at all but people wont do that unless there's a chance they are going to get some reward for it, I am not all that different but my reward is their exasperation,LoL!

Absolutely yes. You are entitled to your rights, it's your doorway. If they want to presume to tell you that your religion is wrong and only they know the way. You have the same right to tell them where to go and why. A less confrontational approach might be better, but on the other hand it won't change their tactics or keep them from going to your neighbor.

You should treat them with kindness. After all, they are doing what they think is right. Jesus loves them even though they are misguided and on the wrong path. Learn the bible and use that when they come. Get saved and try to save them, if they are hungry for the truth, they will listen to you. If they aren't, they will stop coming around.

DO not answer the door. I don't answer the door for Mormons or for Jehovah's Witnesses...or for anyone I do not know personally.

Light up a stogie, blow smoke in their faces and pop open a beer. If you smoke pot, you can use the pot as a substitute for the stogie. Laugh at everything they say. Excuse yourself, walk by them and piss in the shrubs by your front porch. Express interest in going to their next gathering, ask where it is and how much beer you should bring.
This goes for any door to door religion.

Most likely they've heard that before, so you won't be telling them anything new. If you don't want to talk to them, just tell them that. They'll ask if you're sure, and leave you with a card. Just say no thanks, and they'll be on their way.
I was one of those guys a few years ago. I loved most of it, but it did suck when people would yell at us and tell us we're going to burn in eternal fire. I mean, if they really believed that, isn't there a better way to try to convince them?
