You know, George Burns, when asked if he thought sex was "dirty" replied "It is if you're doing it right."

I think people who think lust has no place in a love relationship have NEVER in their lives had the kind of howling, scratching, suck your toenails back into your body kind of sexual orgasm good old-fashioned LUST brings to the table. Or kitchen counter. Or hallway. Or, eventually, with much breakage of furniture and random claw marks, bedroom.

Where would love be without lust? Pining away in the moonlight writing bad poetry, that's where. It's time to celebrate the things that make life worth living and stop calling them SINS, don't you agree?

I think that it might be more useful to discuss the merits of different interpretations of the Bible and how to lead a virtuous life based on its teachings and so forth instead of batting "God exists!" "Doesn't!" back and forth

pray in times of crisis is that true? We were watching a documentary about an atheist lost in the wilderness and they interviewed and he said that he started to pray to God. Thats when my husband informed me that thats what usually happens when atheists are in a crisis

What is the difference between the following the Protestant denominations?
Baptist
Lutheran
Methodist
Presbyterian

Also, are Evangelicalism and Pentecostalism distinct from denominations? Can someone of any denomination be Evangelical or Pentecostal?

Last night my hubby was really gettin on my nerves cos he
was sleeping on his side and his feet kept scratching the
bedsheets. The constant noise of his toenails was really getting on my nerves. So I got up, walked around to his side of the bed to get some socks (I have done this before and just put them on the end of his feet - anything to stop him!!) As I
bent down I felt him behind me and his arms were on my shoulders and pulling me back. As I turned I saw my husband
asleep in bed. I reeled with fright, then I was at the side of him,
lying down as if I had been asleep. It has scared me to death.
So, would this be me just dropping off to sleep or what? Do you think its because I was tired and anxious. I really thought
I was awake. HELP. Minxy.

this is for EVERYONE! catholics, baptists, mormons, lutherans, methodists, etc...please read..

why is it that so many folks here on R & S often say things like, "I'm not bashing them. i am just bashing their religion"....but then those SAME people who are "just bashing the religion"....turn around and question the intelligence of other people?? They say things like "Oh, how can anyone believe that??" or "they must not be thinking!"

that is NOT just bashing the religion. that's bashing the PEOPLE who follow that religion. when you say things like that, you are grossly implying that the other person isn't as intelligent as you.

i mean, why do people have to try and justify their own rude behavior, and then hypocritically turn around and MAKE personal attacks against others??

Do you think Al Jazeera Internation (English Version) is or parallels to Fox news in terms of bias. I have been watching it for a few months now and i actually believe it is quite good, though they usually cover the arab or "Muslim" world, which is fair enough since that is where they HQ is.

I heard they got sued by AA for re-wording literature that went against AA.

I am a gay Christian and I don't believe that it should be considered a disease like alcoholism.

I don't have to have sex as often as I pray faithfully. So wouldn't that be more like being a republican than an alcoholic?

When I was very young I went to work at a bible camp. The lady there was very much a fundie, told me that my previous salvation experience wasn't good enough. She segregated me from the other staff and used me for pretty much slave labor in the kitchen. That lasted a couple of weeks until I blew up and she fired me.
Thanks to her, I ran as far and as fast as I could away from church and from God. Later on her bible camp was taken away from her because she was casting demons out of 9 yr olds.
If she truly represented God, I saw none of the joy or peace I have since experienced in Him, only rabid judgement.
I was only 19 when that happened and pretty much a sinner like everyone else, but I did have a salvation experience when I was 8, accepted the Lord and was baptized. Trouble was, I had been abused by people who said they were Christians-by the time I was 19 I didn't know what to think, only that church was equated with hurt & hypocrisy for me. Was she for real?

I keep hearing Christian haters saying that the religiouse right is trying to make the U.S. Christians.

What law that are strictly christian are they trying to pass? name one.

I haven't seen a cross on anyone's property since Chistmass. Manoras out numbered crosses even then.

I went to the book store: There was 4 bookshelves devoted to the occult, 2 for eastern religions and 1 and a 1/2 to Islam. Judaism and Christianity shared one bookshelf.

At the news stands the average was 14 different porno mags, for every 1 religion themes mag or book.

47 states require evolution being tought in highschools only 3 allow both evolution and creationism. None teach only creationism.

None of the Republican candidates for president are trying to bring back teacher lead prayer in school (only a moment of silence)

so you paranoid people who think Christians want a theocracy- - you need help.

I'm not a Christian- doesn't make me a Christian hater.

I'm only talking about respect with regards to religious beliefs.

I personally feel that I should not have to tip-toe around the subject. I think that belief in any kind of imaginary super-deity should be held in the same regard as an adult that believes in Santa claus, fairies, or Zeus.

I'm asking because I mentioned an article at work about how Douglas Adams became an atheist because of reading "The Selfish Gene" by Dawkins.
A co-worker whom I wasn't talking to got offended thinking it was disrespectful.

But the truth is that I DON'T respect his beliefs. And why should I?

I am curious what others think.

Oh. . And for believers reading this. Do you openly respect the beliefs of other religions? Christians: would you refrain from talking about your beliefs around a Muslim? or vice-versa?

I saw a comment on a youtube video where somebody said that in some pictures of church services and stuff where the holy ghost moves you can see tongues of fire over peoples head do any of you know where I can find these, btw no rude comments or it isnt real comments, Im being serious u will never change my belief it is sound on the bible.
