There are certain topics on Y!A that become heated. It causes some members to wear down and eventually make mistakes. Trolls take advantage of this.

I am asking this question in several of the heated categories to gather suggestions from persons that see the problem.

Some people do not believe in the Trinity or the oneness of the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Here are four verses which prove that they are one and the same:
Matthew 10:20 – “For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.” (It is the Father who will speak through you.)
Mark 13:11 – “But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premediatate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.” (It is the Holy Ghost who will speak through you.)
Luke 12:12 – “For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.” (It is the Holy Ghost who will speak through you.)
Luke 21:15 – “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.” (It is Jesus Christ who will speak through you.)

Like this -- http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArmkPMFYzVcwsX9Oji8iKuZJxQt.?qid=20070814053802AAn3gO9.

I feel like I've had this conversation a bazillion times, and have frequently thought about a creator, a God, etc. and what its nature would have to be to allow us to suffer so.

Really, an all powerful being that created cancer and pedophiles? I shudder to imagine. I can hypothetically accept the whole theory that 'God put all this here to test us' but really -- if you're all powerful, why do you have to make a bunch of tiny people to torture and test to see if they will believe in you no matter what reality suggests?

I just wish I could see more people at least questioning their faith and asking questions outside of the narrow (and falsely 'logical') boxes their pastors and churches put them in.

According to the Theory of Evolutionastics, life began in the ocean, and water organisms eventually evolved the ability to live on land. This is how the theory of evolution explains why we have a lot of organisms on land and in water. According to evolutoionology, all land organisms were once water organisms.

Evolutionists will tell you that frogs evolved when fish grew legs and feet. They'll also tell you that snakes are just eels that learned to live on land. Another thing evolutionism says is that seahorses came on land to evolve into regular horses.

But most evolutionists won't tell you the last step. If all land animals evolved from sea animals, then what did humans evolve from? The theory of evolution requires that humans must have evolved from merpeople who lived in the sea.

But there is no documented scientific evidence that merpeople exist, so humans could not have evolved from them. Therefore, they must have been intelligently designed by God.

The Bible describes the suspension of the Earth in space.
..........................
Job 26:7
He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing.

..................................
The Bible describes the circulation of the atmosphere.

Ecclesiastes 1:6
The wind goes toward the south,
And turns around to the north;
The wind whirls about continually,
And comes again on its circuit.

.................................
The Bible includes some principles of fluid dynamics.

Job 28:25
To establish a weight for the wind,
And apportion the waters by measure.

......................................
The bible includes reasonably complete descriptions of the hydrologic cycle.

Psalm 135:7
He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
He makes lightning for the rain;
He brings the wind out of His treasuries.

This is a general phenomenon observed today.

Muslims dislike Christians ( A pretty old war ).
Atheists don't agree with theists especially Christians.
Jews don't like Christians.

Please give me your honest views.

Why are there doubts that this massive universe was created by a highly intelligent and a extremely powerful force?Can you imagine the sun coming from nothing by some random chaotic chance? Come on.. Gimme a break!

The sun was placed at a "Just right" distance from the earth. Just perfect for humans, animals and plant life to survive. If the sun was any closer, we would burn up like french fries in an oven. If it was further away, we would freeze to death.

How in the world can people say that is not intelligence?

As long as God has me on his planet.... The atheists will always have me wondering if they were born with any common sense.

Do the atheists have multiple Gods? Ego, Self, Brain, Money, Women, All.

Maybe different Atheists worship different ones?

Maybe we should say Atheist God to express any of these in common.

Every man (almost, like %99) on earth worships something. So what is the thing atheists worship? How can we name?

say that there is no god with absolute certainty. I personally reject all formal religions but find it hard to logically say that there is no way there could be a god without proof one way or the other?

Okay so I'm calling myself a cnofused christian but I'm curious about other opinions. And plz don't give me that 'whatever u think u r' bullshit. I want YOUR opinion. I'm not saying it will change mine. Okay so I've been in christian and catholic schools my whole life and they used to make us read the bible through and through. I think I'm christian only because I believe in the 'god of abraham' and I think jesus is messiah and what not.

Being raised in schools like that I did buy into EVERYTHING I learned from the bible. I even got "saved" in the fifth grade.But as I got older I just had to think for myself and now I'm fuly aware that the bible wasn't written by god but by man which is why I don't it as sacred. I think its very biased and written by prejudiced people trying to justify hatred. Homosexuality for example....and I disagree with the lifestyle and culture in which women are second class citizens, racism is accepted as well as slavery and incest. I could go on 4ver but I just think its sad that so many christians are ignorant and blind to the fact that this was a very flawed society. They seem to pay no attenion to this and just like to quote what the pastor spouts in church without question. I also hate how self righteous many christians are with their convenient hatred to gay ppl and the ridiculous idea of converting them. I also hate the term 'saved'....a random baptist lady asked me that one day and we started debating becuase I wasn't going to tolerate her ignorance. What if I was muslim or hindu? Ignorance at its lamest is how I describe many christians I've met. Its just funny how they call the bible 'gods word' as if it appeared out of thin air and then thyre so quick to pass judgment on ppl who aren't religious. My mother practically had a heart attack when I told her my bf was athiest and how great I thought it was and we ended up arguing.

Like I always say if christianity is the way-which none of yoou actually know because you aren't dead- then a lot of christians better shape up fast because the bible teaches ppl that you will be judged as you judge others and from what I can see many of you are going straight to hell. Hypocrites. Ugh!

So what do you think I am based on my summary of beliefs??!

Maybe he spoiled Adam & Eve by giving them too much. Maybe God had to learn like any parent that when you forbid a child from doing something. The child will want to do what you forbade him most of all. Maybe God had to learn in the Old Testament that you have to teach by example. You do not tell your children "Thou Shall Not Kill" and then order them to kill EVERYONE including women & children in an invasion of a already settled country (Canaan). Maybe God had to learn like every parent. And the New Testament's Jesus Christ is when God got it right after 4.000 years of trial & error parenthood. A time when God was in the dark about how to raise kids as are most new parents?

Where, in the Bible, do they talk about self esteem?

I know God doesn´t make ugly, but I cannot go out of the house without comparing myself with others and feeling bad about the way I look.
