"a True Christian would say" ?

Are the Christians who say this GOD Himself? NO!
What makes so many Christians think that they know what a "true" Christian would say or how they would answer. And why do so many of my fellow Christians never seem to have a strong negative opinion of anything? (I mean other than homosexuals - they're fair game, right? They are obviously in more danger of hell then Dub'ya, right?)

For me to consider him a liar, murderer and such, does that really make me not a "true" Christian? I find that to be ridiculous.

(Psalms 103:8-to-14) The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

(Psa 103:9) He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

(Psa 103:10) He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

(Psa 103:11) For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

(Psa 103:12) As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

(Psa 103:13) Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

(Psa 103:14) For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

HE is the God of LOVE.... And MERCY... And GRACE

BUT..... He is also the GOD... OF... TRUTH!

(Rev 20:15) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

A recent questioner said the big bang theory "makes no sense". I'm sure she has done alot of research to back this claim up. Have you?

I've sat back and been disgusted by some "of my own kind." It is rediculous to think that as a Christian, I am better than any Atheist, Mormon, Agnostic, ect. I don't understand how some Christians can call themselves Christians, yet hate or discriminate against those living "in sin", as we'd like to call it. Christians are suppose to be "Christ-like", In my Bible Jesus loved the good along with the bad. When he told those w/o sin to cast the first stone, not even He (man w/o sin) threw a stone, why? B/c he loved, he had compassion. Why is it so hard for some Christians to accept gays, lesbians, fornicators, ect. Isn't their sin wieghed just the same as the sins we as humans deal w/ everyday. B/c ALL have sinned and fallen short. right? Rather than discriminate, wouldn't it be better to accept them and love them through it? I know that the sin is what we are suppose to hate the sin, but rather than focus on the sinful nature of a person, shouldn't we focus on the person?

On RS, atheists and Christians do daily warfare over who is the smartest.

Christianity is losing membership worldwide.

Atheism is stable percentage-wise.

But Islam's growing like a weed.

Christianity 30 CE The Bible 2,039 million 32% (dropping)
Islam 622 CE Qur'an & Hadith 1,226 million 19% (growing)

By the standards atheists and Christians have agreed to measure the validity of their beliefs, are Moslems the smartest of the three?

How many of you think that a lot of religions were made to keep women lower than men.

According to Genesis 2:17, "But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.” God said that if Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge or good and bad, they would die. it doesn't mean in a day literally. What it saying I will explain. Remember that a day in Jehovah's eyes is as a thousand years. An we know that no human ever lived up to a full thousand years and past. If they did, they would be living into the next day and not as pronounced by God in Genesis 2:17. The longest man who ever lived was Methuselah and he lived for 963 yrs. He never lived up to a full 1000 yrs. It's found in the Genesis 5:27, "So all the days of Methuselah amounted to nine hundred and sixty-nine years and he died." Even Adam who is the first human only lived for 130 yrs(Genesis 5:4)

One more note. Lamech was the first human to have 2 wives.(Genesis 4:19, "And Lamech proceeded to take two wives for himself.

It's from "Bull Durham", but I am pretty sure Annie (Susan Sarandon) was quoting one of her poets, but I'm not sure.

Anyways...

The world is not made for people cursed with self-awareness.

Just wondered: what do you think of it? It struck me, caught me a little off guard.

I see the term "false religion" slung around quite a bit on R&S, but have never seen a description as to what religion would be false, and what would not.

If even one person believes that a religion is truth, would that make it a valid belief?

When I was young my mother had this saying, "You don't have to do anything but pay taxes and die." The inevitability of these two things was a given in my family.

I don't believe this anymore. With my income as it is, I no longer have to pay taxes. Because I eat His body and drink His blood, I no longer have to die. I will live forever. God, in His grace, has lifted me from my childhood destiny.

Do you believe in death and taxes?

Yours in Christ Jesus, Grace

People of other religions are not telling them to worship Buddha, Mohammed or Krishna in order to achieve salvation. and the Bible tells us that Jesus was sent by God, not that he WAS God.
why would someone be sent to Hell even though they worshipped God, albeit through Krishna rather than Jesus; or directly, without a human intermediary?

Don't you realize that when you impede scientists from doing research, you are delaying progress? Those who came before me could have been more supportive of the great scientists of their age, and had they done so, the world today would surely be far more advanced, both technologically and socially. And it makes me sad to see those religious stumbling blocks still in place. Every day that science is banned from doing stem cell research is another day that people have to wait for relief from their ailments.

If you want to continue living in the Dark Ages, that's fine. By all means do it. But please, I beg you, don't force me to live there with you!

Evolution is a "theory" that the various types of animals and plants have their origin in other preexisting types and that the distinguishable differences are due to modifications in successive generations. Theories are "unproved assumptions." Why would you want to believe in something that is only an assumption?

If you lived in France and you had always heard that Copernicus discovered and conquered the Americas all by himself, lived to be 911 years old and singlehandedly built ever great city in America and gave them all of the laws and knowledge that made the United States great, and the people who told you this proved it by giving you a book that said it was the truth and that's the way it happened, does that make it true?

Is that REALLY how America was discovered, settled, and made into the great country that it is? Would you be surprised if someone thought that was a bunch of crap and decided to do some research and discovered that the Americans told a completely different story?

Would you say the person that did the research was wrong for believing what he found to be true, instead of sticking with the story the French book had put out there, even though the French book went against everything ever written by anyone else on the subject? Is the researcher wrong?
