"a True Christian would say" ?
Are the Christians who say this GOD Himself? NO!
What makes so many Christians think that they know what a "true" Christian would say or how they would answer. And why do so many of my fellow Christians never seem to have a strong negative opinion of anything? (I mean other than homosexuals - they're fair game, right? They are obviously in more danger of hell then Dub'ya, right?)
For me to consider him a liar, murderer and such, does that really make me not a "true" Christian? I find that to be ridiculous.

I do try my best not to judge others - but to deny I have a strong opinion about the state of the world and Bush's place in it would be to lie. I have a strong feeling about this one. Yes, it is ultimately between Bush and God. But I answered honestly. I do not claim to be perfect, I claim to be human. And, in my opinion, should the man burn for eternity - YES. Can I condem him to hell - No, I am not GOD, and neither are those of you who claim to be "true". That's all I'm sayin'.

I've been slapped upside the head (figuratively speaking) with the "you're not a true Christian" thing, rather often. I am Catholic, so it's not too hard to guess where the accusation comes from.
It's probably more appropriate for a Christian to ask him/herself, "am I living as a true Christian?" than looking around the room to see who matches up with his/her particular criteria.
With regard to your linked question, since Bush is a professed Christian, it is correct for a brother or sister to rebuke him. And I do agree with you that while he is no better or worse than any of us as an individual believer, his position of authority makes him far more accountable. To whom much is given, much is required. I am not prepared to say that I know for certain he will be found among the goats on his day of judgment, but I am definitely concerned for him.

A "true Christian" is supposed to be Christ like in his or her ways, while at the same time knowing that they aren't perfect and are stained by sin and the only redemption comes from the fact that God gave his only Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sins so that we may inherit His kingom.
I don't like W as a President either, but Jesus did say, "He without sin, cast the first stone.", so are you without sin?
To use an anology from the Bible, Bush would be the adulterous woman who was about to get stoned. Read John Chapter 8

Good point Mel! I agree that it's not always what we say as people but how it is said that can be quite offensive to some.
I think we all can strive to be a bit more kinder on this site. It does get a bit ridiculous at times. The Bible actually says that we should avoid foolish questions.
Have a nice day. Some "Ice cream" would be nice.

You call yourself "Christian" yet you want to condemn a man to an eternity in hell? I think you may want to check yourself. It says in the Bible that no man can be the judge of another. That is reserved for God alone. Where the president spends eternity is between him and God, and man has no say in it what so ever, so this is a stupid question.

I agree, but try not to be too hard on those who use that particular phrase "true Christian".
You know, for example, that there are people who call themselves Christians who deny the Trinity, who say God 'hates' certain people, who blatantly chop up and mince the Word and form it into something they claim is God's word, when anyone who understands God's truth KNOWS it isn't. How many things have been perpetrated in the name of God that are anything but???
As for homosexuality, I find our focus on it as Christians more a reaction to the lifestyle being pushed in our faces day after day (particularly in matters of law) than of simply plucking it out of the Bible as 'something to pick on'. Yes, there are LOTS of other sins out there, but when people try to pass laws to recognize those things as 'acceptable' by our country's standards you'll probably see the same focus.
I think Christians SHOULD have a strong negative reaction to many things in our society....now more than ever. As for homosexuals being in "more danger of hell" than George W., that's a matter for God to know. If someone is saved, they are not in danger of hell. If they are not, they face that danger. Simple as that. We are all sinners, and all sin is the same.
As for your personal opinion of the president, that's just that: your opinion. How it bears on your status as a Christian is between you and God, not us.

My view of "labels" is they come with manufacters directions.
To say I am a Christian, only tells me one believes in Christ,
That's the short of it. The long of it is another story.
To say, I know it all, means I know very little, There is your
truth, My truth, and The truth. Humility is to remain teachable.
The more questions I have answers to, the more questions I have need to ask, I can not force my truth on you, You can not force your truth on me, There is a human element/a spirit element in each of us. I Quote again, "Consider this: If I was entirely loving, nothing would bother me." False ego: To bring some down picks me up. It is my job to take the plank out of my eye, God's job to take the plank out of some one else's eye. If one is going to preach, preach the Good News. Don't fuel the radicals from either side. Is how I "TRY" to walk my journey. "What ever you resist you give energy to and what ever you give energy to continues to grow." Blessings.

I would never waste good food by dumping my lunch when anyone says anything I don't agree with. Reminds me too much of my bulimic ex-wife. (Ah, the secrets people learn about me!)
So, what is true for one is false for another. If there are too many Christian Truists then you need to tell them that if something is supremely true then other people would embrace this truism without any question. I for one don't accept other people's truth because I am not that person. My religion is right for me and requires no one else's participation or belief to make it anymore or less right for me!
I am a Pagan, a Witch and I have nothing in my religion that requires other people to jump through hoops to make this religion right for me. It stands without support of anyone other than me. Period! So for all those people out there who will attempt to convince me otherwise, give up now! I'm not interested in your beliefs!
Bright ones to all!

You are aware that quantity of sin does not necessarily disqualify a Christian from admittance to heaven, right? If he accepts Christ as his savior, which I think he does, he has his ticket in.
Bush..yeah..don't like the man. But from a Christian God's perspective one sin is as bad as a million. Bush is no worse than any of us--he has just as little right to enter Heaven as you or I do. That's why Christians have Christ--it's through Christ's sacrifice and the demonstration of extreme divine grace that people are allowed to wash their sins away and enter Heaven even though they are undeserving.
(Disclaimer: I do not proclaim to believe or disbelieve this--I am merely reporting the facts of Christian doctrine as accurately as I understand them.)

I've met so many different varieties of True Christians who denounce the others that I know longer know which ones are the actual True Christians.
I think the whole True Christian thing is a variation of the No True Englishman game.

You and I both need to have our morning coffe...
You cover a lot of ground here. Orthodoxy. homosexuality. lies, murder....you need your coffee.
We are all sinners. We all fall far short of perfection. Get over it..
I love you more than you love yourself.
listen to some good music and try to put yourself in a better frame of mind for the rest of the day.
