True believers do not have doctrines but Faith ! and believe
in the Word of God Only . God Himself sent His word into the
world which became flesh ( Jesus Christ ) , and he said if you
love me , you will follow my Fathers commandments . You must submit to Gods sovereign authority over us and repent !
of all sin . Fight the good fight and preserver to the end never
giving up . Be totally dependent on God and His forgiveness
through Jesus . Our Father Loves us so much that he wants to
save us to be part of His Holy Family . Thats where Jesus comes in , you see God is Holy and sin can not come into
His presents with out being destroyed . We become Sanctified and Holy by the Blood sacafice of Jesus sent by
God Himself which covers all sin . No one can say that a sin
is to great for them to over come if you are truly dependent on God . Yes we still all sin but , do we continue a repeditive sin ? if so that just means you are hanging on to that sin and ,
not giving it up to Jesus who God sent to take it away for what
ever reason you have ( which is wrong , I have been there , done that ) and rejecting God . So with all that said most all
religions are watered down or completely changed from Gods truth so as to make them feel better about themselves
so the can continue to live the Lie which may have been past
down for generation becoming their truth and there by becoming blind to Gods Truth . So they would rather die believing the lie than think they are wrong ( Pride , Humility etc . ) It is better to engage peacefully with a open mind to
confirm your beliefs and when truth be revealed do not reject
it but dig in and find more and accept it . The sad thing is most people revert back to the lie because that is all they ever knew and are not willing to go against family , church ,
etc. in fear of becoming an out cast , cut off from family or fortune , even death in some countries . USA is not exempt
from any of them . Most people simply do not want to change
because the Truth or the word of God , how ever you want to
look at it cramps their life style or they might have to stop doing something or give up some way of life . They might have to become a good person 24/7 and that just , well you
get the picture . The real question is whats in your heart are
you going to look the other way or make a stand and do what
is right no matter what this world says or does to you . Eternal
Life or Death it is a choice . God give us all a way Home to
Him through His Son , my Lord , my Great High Preist , my Savour , my Friend , my Brother , He came for me , He came
for you and everybody else . You just have to accept His free
gift right now and your life will take on a new journey , one
that God has planed for you . I hope you will , there is so much to gain and nothing to loose . He waits for and welcomes you home when you come . Do not wait another day , you could step out and die with out ever knowing the Love of your Maker and the beautiful life His has for you.....

Well ill try to explain as best as I can. Im gonna use a made up story. (its gonna be a lil dumb)

One day John was talking about God to his friend Amy. He said i don't think its right to eat meat on Fridays. I think we should have Midnight Mass and I think (w/e) are the best. Amy said why ? And John explained. well amy didn't think like that so she started her own doctrine based on what she believed and so did John. then people started worshipping that way.

(sorry if im wrong about certain things, this is just what i think I remember from my history book)
WAY back in the day like in the medieval times there was one main Church and that was the Church of England which was Catholic. well one person (i can't remember the name) didn't like the teachings so he started a rebellion called the Protestant reformation or something like that. SOo other people, many people joined him. many other people perseacuted them an killed them. but all it was was a different way of believing things like. Mormons don't believe in makeup and such. but i believe it doesn't matter. I know this is right >The church is a group of people. not just some building, people and their beliefs are what creates the churcc. hope this helps

What if Jesus was made up? What of no such person ever existed, and the Jesus we know in the present day is just a composite of several historical people like King Arthur?
I personally think Jesus did live but I think Christianity has made something of him that he never was, and never will be. Islam has done this with Muhammad, Buddhism with Gautama Buddha and so forth....
To find the answer to who and what Jesus is, one must look within oneself. No bibles or church groups can explain that which is perpetually beyond books and groups. Churches, cults and sects have all believed that they were the correct ones, that they had the final monopoly on truth. But this is simply not the case. Truth is not anyone's possession - it simply is what it is.

As a Protestant, I don't believe that Catholics are going to hell, are "unsaved," anything like that. I have never heard ANY Protestant preach that. The central doctrine of believing in Jesus and His forgiving power are the same.

better read the Bible yourself, then evaluate each teachings. God will lead you to the truth if you are honest and sincere. Recognize always the Bible as the authority. Rightly divide the Word of Truth, so you wouldn't be ashamed as God's workman (2 Tim. 2:15)

1John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

If you enjoy watching movies, rent "Luther" for an understanding of Catholics and Lutherans. One Sunday, visit churches around your area and feel the presence and notice what is in the sanctuary/building and what is not. Christ is on the cross, Christ is not on the cross. Saints, Mary, Joseph statues adorn the building, other building do not have these statues.

Catholicism does not ordain women...they cannot do many of the functions others churches allow them to do. Birth control is another doctrine that differs, for some faith belief systems it is up to the woman and the man, for the Catholic religion, birth control is forbidden.

Jesus came to bring and to be love, in ways that are unconditional and not judgment.

It is all about translation and interpretation of the Bible. Different translations bring different interpretations. Some researchers have interpreted the scriptures based on their own beliefs and then preach that as the truth. I believe in Jesus, but I refuse to call myself Christian, because that brings the stereotype I don't belong to, and actually I don't want to belong to. However, I follow my own intuition and allow myself to interact to Him the way I want to and the way He conducts me. I don't hold myself to Bible either, although I might read the Gospel as a reference, but I simply allow Him to lead me the way He wants.

My religion is Spiritism.

Peace!

For an outline of some of the differences read 'Rome Sweet Home' by Scott and Kimberly Hahn.

This question is too great in scope to be answered here and I am sure that many of the people answering don't have the first clue either.

Catholics don't think it's enough to "just believe". They do works for salvation, which the Bible calls a false gospel that can't save. Oh they'll put up a bunch of scriptures that they've twisted to their own destruction, the Bible says.

Salvation is only by believing that Jesus, who is God, died for your sins and rose again. NO WORKS can or will ever save you. This is why catholics are not Christians and not saved.

If catholics were Christians, then all those true Christians throughout history that were killed by catholics for giving the Bible to the people, for preaching salvation by grace through faith, that were burned alive, had stakes driven through them, were killed for their beliefs.... they were fools, right?

Wrong. Catholics are not Christians
