No, not at all.
If your god loved it's people so much it would have stopped the war long before it became a war. Why would an all powerful god wait until things were already underway to suddenly then act?

I think we have to be careful when claiming God allowed this or that to happen, or had a direct involvement in a historical event.
Like what has already been stated, if God did directly intervene in WWII, why did he intervene so late? Why did He allow so many Jewish children to be gassed in concentration camps? So many innocent people to be bombed? So many teenage men to be shot? Did He want this to happen? Of course not!
I believe God DID play a role in WWII, as He has throughout history. God inspired millions of people to fight evil, to put their lives on the line to help stop the war, to help save others from dying.
God is always present. He relies on us to do His will, and gives those with faith the strength to do so. When we fail to stand up for justice, to commit ourselves to God, we should not be surprised when horrible atrocities happen.

Yah, cause it worked out so well. The Nazis main recruiting tool was the Christian religion, that's why they wanted to kill all the Jews. Hitler thought he was on a holy crusade to rid the world of the Jews. What kind of sicko God is that, allowing the Nazis to gain power through his name, allowing the deaths of millions, and all for the love of god and greed.
And look how it turned out after the war, the Berlin wall, the Cold War, the creation of the state of Israel and all the killing that has caused.

If God was going to intervene, then why didn't He do something about Nazi persecution against Jews, Gypsys, Catholics, etc.?

Yep. he gave support and help our troops with the war they were fighting. The Nazis had the Jews rounded up and were killing them so God told us we had to get involved, thats why Pearl Harbor happened. a wake up call from God to get our lazy butts moving.
