Definitely true.
Lev 11:9 These shall ye eat of all that [are] in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
Lev 11:10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which [is] in the waters, they [shall be] an abomination unto you:
Lev 11:12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that [shall be] an abomination unto you.

The statments you are recieving saying the laws of the old testement no longer apply are incorrect. The foremost authority in the new testiment bible is JESUS when he was asked by his deciples as to what they should eat he said,
when you go to a mans house to do work in my name whatever he sets before you to eat, I will bless it but otherwise you do as you were told in times of old.
To those that don't understand this it means unless you are at someones house trying to convert or spread the word of GOD you are to abide by the rules of the old testiment, and there has been no statment to change that rule. people get his other statment about cleanliness confused with what you should eat. when he said nothing that goes into the body can difile the body he was answering a question about washing his hands. so yes you are not suposed to eat shellfish only fish that have scales and gills, and they must have both.
And yes the bible says to not lie with a man as you would a woman nor lie with an animal for both are abomination.
The truth is the people pertaking in these wrongs are quick to say the old testiment doesn't count anymore they couldn't be more wrong. not only does JESUS refer to it as the law many times, the two testements old and new are like a two way street connected and inseperable only seperation is a small timeline in the middle, they are the word of GOD wholy writtings and contain GOD's will.
people are weak and can't seem to obey but that doesn't change the law. As for me I only eat what it says I can eat in the old testement, and have no desire to lie with a man or animal I don't find this much of a sacrifice, I have plenty of other sins to worry about, but not those.
You should try reading some of the bible you may like it, if I may suggest try Matthew chapters 5 thru 7 this is the sermon on the mountain by JESUS I hold these words most high.

It is one of the laws. That is why Jews do not eat pork or shellfish. It is a scavanger so it eats other creatures poop...so it is considered unclean. The best thing is to read the bible with an open mind and prayer to understand what you are to understand and for it to be used and God intends. There are so many stories and so much translation and interpretation.
Just my two cents worth here...but God says his word does not change...so I do not believe that a "human sacrifice" wipes out our sin. I believe that if we do something wrong we should just consider ourselves saved...but rather repent for wrong doing, repair what we did and not repeat the wrong. This last paragraph will really bring out the thumbs downs...but really, read the Bible...and Hosea 13:4 says there is no other savior but God. So I choose God not a man that claimed to be the son of God. I believe we are all children of God.

It is in the book of Leviticus. (Leviticus 11:10 "And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you", 11:11 "They (shellfish) shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination." . AND 11:12 "Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.") And all those who say that Jesus and the New Testament wipe out the old laws are full of it. Jesus himself even said in the book of Matthew that the old laws are still in effect. ("Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." and it goes on further from there.) They just say that because some of the old laws pertain to THEM, and they don't like it, so now they're trying to say that those don't apply. It's convenient that only the laws that pertain to *others* are in effect. They're hypocrites.

in the old testament the Israelites by the mosaic law were not permitted to eat meat including pork, beef, and i guess shellfish. This was a law for them because they could be poisoned by the food and put there life at risk by eating it because it went bad so quickly. That rule was put there to protect their health. Its okay to eat shellfish now because we have technology such as freezers and refrigerators to keep the meat fresh and away from bacteria. Also we are no longer under the mosaic law

That's Old Testament, if I'm not mistaken.
My Jewish friends do not eat Shellfish.
I think the part about men who lie with men is from Leviticus, which also tells us that if a man has sex with a sheep, then both the man and the sheep must be killed.

The law is fulfilled in the atonement of Christ we by faith are not under any law but made new and in agreement with God's righteousness. We who accept the atonement do not worship God in traditions of law but in spirit and truth. The clean and unclean laws are fulfilled by the atonement. Yes the shellfish was a forbidden food and all food you may now eat freely.

Homosexuality is not only an abomination, but a mortal sin if one dies in that sin. There are many abominations to God that man would not ordinarily think of. For instance, "Smoking", and use of all tobacco products, is a great abomination since it defiles the temple of the flesh.

That's in the old testament, and those laws do not apply since the new covenant was formed. However, the ten commandments and the new testament laws still apply.
