Pagan Witch
Over a year ago I met a lady, M, who lived across the street. She introduced herself and invited me over. Before I left she announced she was JW and asked about my religion. "I never talk religion nor politics with friends - quickest way to make enemies!" I replied.
During the following year we became friends, even though she attempted monthly to involve religion in our conversation with little questions like;
M -"How come you don't read the bible?"
Pagan - "Because I'm not jewish."
M." In so and so, chapter so and so, verse so and so it says,................. What do you think about that?'
Pagan - "I don't"
M - "don't you believe in GOd?"
Pagan - Yes, just not yours, nor your idea of it."

Always I'd quickly change the subject. In the meantime, because she was very obese she had a hard time lifting her arms and walking, I dried and styled her hair, did the foot work as she shopped, painted the interior of her house, ran errands, cried with her when she found out

1. Respect earned through caring, patience, and doing what is right.
2. Fear due to displays of strength, wrath, and threats.
Causing fear earns nothing but contemp in my opinion.
What is your opinion?

Same book, different spelling right? Sort of like "color" and "colour", and "honour" and "honor".

I just found out about a lady that has been fighting cancer for quite a while now, has been given a week! Her wish is to be cremated and have her ashes scattered over her back yard. I am wondering if she would even be able to do this? Is this allowed or even acceptable?!

Martin Luther also hated Jews, and said some things not mentionable about them. Don't get me wrong, I have a great deal of respect for what he accomplished as one of the main forces in the reformation. However I am quite interested in the opinions of others on this subject. So, if you would please ?

Since there haven't been any major additions/deletions for about 600 years, it seems like it is due for an updating.

Before anyone asks, yes, this book was divinely inspired.

We know dinosaurs existed and if you don't believe that, you might as well say that the world is flat. I would like a Christian point of view.

*how to deal in each aspect of life , individual&social, material&moral,economic&politi... since islam is a complete guidence for all aspects concerns human life.
* how to apply my faith , and make equillibrium between material and spirituality.since islam is a practical religion.

What if there has been 2? Any significance?

Sodom was a beautiful place and well watered but the men of Sodom were wicked exceedingly. The word 'Sodom' has been used ever since to describe male homosexuality

Abraham pleaded with God to spare the cities for the sake of good men living there. God said he would spare the cities even for the sake of 10 good men but such could not be found. Eventually only one good man, Lot, a nephew of Abraham could be found. God sent three Angels to warn Lot and tell him to get out of the city. The Angels stayed with Lot the night and the men of Sodom besieged Lot's house wanting to have sex with the strangers..

The Angels struck them blind and after that they wandered blindly still seeking the door of Lot's house. The next day Lot and his family left the city and God destroyed it. Lot's wife looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt. Today there is still much salt to be found in the area which includes the Dead Sea.

* Note: This refers to Solomon Spalding's "Manuscript Found," and not "Manuscript Story" (erroneously referred to as "Manuscript Found" by E.D. Howe, who discovered it in Hawaii), which was so famously certified as "not being the basis for the Book of Mormon."

This question is addressed to critics of the LDS faith, but all are welcome to answer if they feel so inclined.

Are the alarms going off in your head yet?
Is religious freedom and tolerance being twisted into catering to special groups?
Will I be violated for even asking this?

"Who you are speaks so loudly I cannot hear what you say."
Ralph Waldo Emerson. Is WHO we are speaking so loudly to the world around us,That that is the reason that they aren't hearing what we say?"Do what I say,not what I do Christianity?"Or are you "living a lifestyle worthy of the calling that which you have recieved?"Are you,are we,as a body doing what we are shouting to the world is the RIGHT thing to do?Are we walking the walk we so passionately share w/ the world is the RIGHT path?In Romans we are told"Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it w/o even thinking."DO YOU fit in without thought?Equating this to an evangelism principle,Our life message has the GREATEST impact in paving the way for us to deliver the Gospel message in words. The effectiveness of what we say relies most on the character of the messenger than on the content of the message.“What you are speaks so loudly I can’t hear what you say.”What message are you speaking w/ who you are?

I just recently became a Christian and I know that I am one, but I am still having doubts. Did I say the right words? Was I really sincere? There are many other questions just like these. I know that these doubts are invalid but I just can't get them to go away. What do I need to do? Thank you so much for your answers! I appreciate them so much!
