Ok, let me explain. Back when John the Revelator was alive Rome was the most powerful country, had soldiers almost everywhere and had tons of land...Rome constantly interfered with international matters in some way or another...

So, isn't that like America now? Could it be that John was just refering to America as Rome since we're the most powerful nation ever in the world? We're constantly doing things worldwide, constructive or destructive...something is always happening because of America.

Especialy protestants. I dont get it.

Catholics believe that Jesus died on the cross and was ressurected.

Even within protestant circles this is seen as the essential element for salvation.

Everything else from a protestant point of view would not negate salvation. They may look at some practices as peculiar but they would not be classed as capable of nulifying salvation.

even protestants disagree about almost everything among their own groups, entire churches have split over nothing more than weather the offering basket should be blue or white (example)

so whats the big deal!!!

Why do many fundies say you are not "real" Christians.

I thought that if you believe that Jesus was the messiah you are a Christian.

Where do they think they get their precious bible from?

Um, hi. I remember when I was in 5th grade that I got convicted of my sins. I was convicted the entire day, thinking about God, Heaven, Hell, Jesus, everything. I really wanted to get saved, and finally, I broke down before God. I asked--no BEGGED--him to come into my heart and relieve me of my sins. I asked him to PLEASE save me from hell, and eternal damnation.

Not the exact words, but it was pretty close to that. After taht, I felt a peace and tears went thorugh my eyes. I felt free.

But now, I am starting to have doubts. I am starting to doubt that my name is in the Lamb's Book of Life. I am starting to doubt that when i prayed, I prayed with my heart. I am starting to doubt even my salvation.
I would love it if all of these doubts went away, adn I knew for sure tat I was was going to heaven someday, and sing praises to His name.

Both of my parents are devout Christians, and after spending my youth in the church, I've realized that I simply hold no stock in what I was taught. I can't really call myself an athiest, since I know that we can't disprove God, but I know that I definitely don't believe in the Christian God. I believe that my parents suspect that this may be the case, but I'm not sure if I should actually tell them. What do you think? I'm especially interested in the opinion of Christian parents. If your child rejected your God, would you want to know, or would you rather not know? My parents are both great people, and the last thing I want to do is hurt them, but I don't think I'm doing anyone any favors by pretending to be something that I'm not. What would you do?

(this is going to be a long one) could 8 people cared for all the animals while also sailing the ark. How would they have known the special dietary needs of some of the more exotic animals, stopped the animals from preying on each other. What of lighting, ventilation, and temperature control, hibernation, the survival and germination of seeds, the position of freshwater and saltwater fish, the question of what the animals would have eaten immediately after leaving the Ark, how they traveled (or were gathered) from all over the world to board the Ark and how they could have returned to their far-flung habitats across the Earth's bare, flood bashed land.

All answers welcome
