I, personally, have no idea what this person is talking about. He or she has mentioned it more than once in an answer about Witchcraft ad spell work.

I think she means "reagents," which only chemists and hardcore alchemists use.
But when somebody is so encyclopedically ignorant, it's hard to tell what they mean. After all, how can you tell what people are talking about when they don't know what they're talking about?

Raven's, I've been a Witch since 1971 and have never heard the term "Regents" used in any form of Witchcraft whatsoever. I HAVE heard of Reagents, which are basically something that will dissolve something else. And those are not very expensive, Water is the most common reagent used with alcohol and some sort of vegetable or nut oil being among the others. I've also heard of tinctures being made with vinegar. NONE is very expensive and when used to make a tincture, a little goes a LONG way.

A "regent" is someone who does something for someone else. Basically he beliefs (and wrongly so) that some people "hire" witches and wiccans to cast spells for them believing that others have more power and will have more success in casting a spell than the person who desires the result. Obviously, this person has either been taken advantage of by charlatans or is just poorly informed.

You are right! This person doesn't have a clue. As for me, having been practicing for around 40 years I NEVER buy anything other than certain ingredients and prefer to find, make, or grow my own when possible.
