Look at 1, 2 Timothy for a very patriarchal view of how a man should behave..this is the view that has been accepted and passed down through the generations. It addresses deacons and wives and husbands and widows, etc.

That is a simple question which requires a long, complicated answer.
The impulse is to simply reply: like Jesus.
But the world is more complicated than that and we all cannot give up our worldly possessions and become followers of Jesus, now can we?
As you know, Jesus was Jewish and followed the Jewish faith.
He most likely heard the following story that I will now relate to you.
The story goes like this:
"The Talmud (Shabbat 31a) relates that a non-Jew once came to Hillel and asked him to teach him the entire Torah while he, the non-Jew, stood on one foot.
Hillel answered, “What you find hateful do not do unto your friend. This is the entire Torah; the rest is commentary. Go study it."
Bottom line: all people (men and women) should behave the way we want others to behave.

Best to look to scripture to answer this. Just as a Christian woman, we should be merciful, kind, compassionate, loving, forgiving, look out not only for ourselves but for the interests of others as well.
