If a Christian works at a bar, I assure you that his spirit would be vex like Lot.

He would desire another job...

Habakkuk 2:15
Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!

Depends on the Christian and maybe the bar. A bar in and of itself is not sinful place. A Christian should not be afraid of the world we live in. Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world. Many Christians may see this as a stumbling block therefore might not be the first choice for a job.

A Christian should never work in a bar. The Bible calls that "giving place to the devil".

That Christian that walks into a bar just might bring a sinner to Christ. You never know.

no...
there is scripture regarding the Church (Christians) as being the body of Christ. If we are his hands, we don't want to lead others from Him with our actions.

If We Are The Body Lyrics
Artist(Band):Casting Crowns Review The Song (37) Print the Lyrics

It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in
Trying to fade into the faces
The girls' teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know

CHORUS
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
There is a way

A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat
And quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances tells him that his chances
Are better out on the road

CHORUS
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way

Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the Body of Christ

Chorus (2x)
If we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way

Jesus is the way

Considering most Americans are Christian, our bars would be pretty empty with only non-Christians to serve and only non-Christians to drink... because I'm assuming if you can't work there, you can't drink there.

I once worked in a bar, and I don't recommend it to anyone regardless of their beliefs (unless as an act of desperation).

sure. I think a Christian should be more concerned with helping someone else than by being worried of being corrupted. Just think of some of the people you could reach that need to be shown the way.

Why not?

Honest work is honest work.
And at the end of the day, you'll still have to render unto the taxman (a.k.a. Caesar) the things that are...etc.

Besides - Jesus drank wine and I doubt he would judge you if you served wine or strong spirits.
