Um, hi. I remember when I was in 5th grade that I got convicted of my sins. I was convicted the entire day, thinking about God, Heaven, Hell, Jesus, everything. I really wanted to get saved, and finally, I broke down before God. I asked--no BEGGED--him to come into my heart and relieve me of my sins. I asked him to PLEASE save me from hell, and eternal damnation.

Not the exact words, but it was pretty close to that. After taht, I felt a peace and tears went thorugh my eyes. I felt free.

But now, I am starting to have doubts. I am starting to doubt that my name is in the Lamb's Book of Life. I am starting to doubt that when i prayed, I prayed with my heart. I am starting to doubt even my salvation.
I would love it if all of these doubts went away, adn I knew for sure tat I was was going to heaven someday, and sing praises to His name.

Also, i have been seeing a lot of people saying that "salvation only works if you keep on praying for the rest of your life"

No. Once saved always saved is the correct term. Most probably won't agree with me, but I did find a verse:

Hebrews 5:9

9And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

I am not trying to be all knowing here, but I just know that God won't forget us.

There are plenty of verses in the Bible that say that he won't forsake us, or forget us.

It was never about you at all and your efforts to attain Heaven, and I think you're finally finding that out. If you thought you could control God with your 5th grade desires and begging, maybe now you're seeing that your Christian life is a reliance on Him, not a reliance on your own feelings. If you're His, it's because He has pulled you to Himself, not you pulling Him to yourself.

Salvation by Jesus is not a feeling. It is a truth. He tells us that if we come to Him believing, He will never let us go. A personal relationship with Him is like loving someone so much that you would never turn your back on them, no matter what anyone else says about them or what they do.

Your doubt is because you think that you are not good enough for salvation. Well none of us are but, Jesus is.

Pray, read your Bible, listen to and sing Christian praise music, have fellowship with other believers for support and tell Satan, that if he has a problem with your salvation, go and tell it to Jesus and just leave you alone. Oh, how he hates to hear this.

You are still saved. You are just not growing spiritually right now. Are you studying the Bible and praying daily? DO you have any sin you need to deal with? Not doing these things can make us doubt our salvation. Get closer to God, He's still there.

It's kind of like how you can feel close to a friend you see everyday. If you move, after time you may have a hard time remembering what your friend looked like, etc... When we wander from God we can forget what His goodness and joy feels like. WHen you walk closer to Him, you'll remember again.

If you want to be assured of your Salvation the best place to receive that assurance is in His Word. Do you read the bible? In the New Testament the Gospels, the book of Romans, Ephesians, and Hebrews have many scriptures that lead you to the assurance of your Salvation through Christ Jesus. For starters, read John 3:16, John 14:6, Romans 10:9-13, and 1 John 1:9.

My friend we all have doubts about our own salvation from time to time. The thing is that we must continue to believe in God's saving grace and just who He is. We must continue daily to believe what Rom 10:9-10 + 13 says that once we confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus and believe with our hearts that God hath raised him from the dead we shall be saved!

I know that you (and I) are faced with many challenges and may even sin but we must get up and do what 1 John 1:9 says ... confess our sins and move on. Continue to live in a manner that is pleasing to HIM.

Be encouraged... you are saved by grace through faith (Eph 2:8)

Read the gospels and decide whether their testimony of Jesus is convincing to you. If so, get on with living the Christian life. The faith that saves is an unwavering conviction, not an experiemental faith.

"he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised." Rom 4:20,21

We are saved by faith in the atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It is by faith we say we are made new and born again.
We have not literally died and been born again but we claim his promise by faith.
How do we maintain our faith?
We receive faith as a gift from God.
We received this gift when we began to seek God's truth.
We receive through faith revelation from God which confirms our faith.
From revelation we begin a personal relationship with God.
It is this relationship that keeps us in faith.
We continue this relationship by staying with God in prayer and meditation and in his word it increases our faith and grows our relationship.
Knowing God we know that he loves us all while we were yet sinners he loved us enough to pay the price of our sin which was the crucifiction he suffered for us.
Continue to seek God in his word and in prayer and meditation and God will keep you close. It is his promise to deliver those who love and seek the truth.
God Bless You! You are in my prayers.

Edit once saved always saved is true God will not forsake us.
We unfortunately do forsake God and none are literally saved but those who endure to the end. By faith we claim our salvation and by faith we have entered the kingdom of God.
Consider if we have literaly died and been literally transformed? Then we do not sin and this is the literal kingdom of God where there is no sin and no death, What we have we have now we have by faith if we choose to fall away and we lose our faith where is our salvation? Those who claimed the promises of God and now do not believe are they also literally saved though they deny God? Is this literally the kingdom of God?
It is by faith and so long as we continue in faith we are saved and salvation is forever.

"Not everyone crying 'Lord, Lord', will inherit the kingdom, but only those who do the will of the father."Mathew 7:21 Learn to live according to the Gospels to be sure of salvation. Read them often and pray to the father in the name of Jesus for guidance.

oh sweetie, once you say yes to jesus there is nothing you could do but say that you dont believe in jesus anymore that would take your name off the list!! the doubts are from satan trying to get to you and trying to get you to say that you dont believe in God so that he could take you!! dont worry about those doubts just pray to god and your doubts should go away! ur saved dont worry about that!!

Well of course you have doubts, 10 year old children will believe whatever they are told. I'm sure you have doubted between the time you were in 5th grade and now whether or not Santa Clause is actually bringing you presents.
