What if there has been 2? Any significance?

Sodom was a beautiful place and well watered but the men of Sodom were wicked exceedingly. The word 'Sodom' has been used ever since to describe male homosexuality

Abraham pleaded with God to spare the cities for the sake of good men living there. God said he would spare the cities even for the sake of 10 good men but such could not be found. Eventually only one good man, Lot, a nephew of Abraham could be found. God sent three Angels to warn Lot and tell him to get out of the city. The Angels stayed with Lot the night and the men of Sodom besieged Lot's house wanting to have sex with the strangers..

The Angels struck them blind and after that they wandered blindly still seeking the door of Lot's house. The next day Lot and his family left the city and God destroyed it. Lot's wife looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt. Today there is still much salt to be found in the area which includes the Dead Sea.

Jesus said a richetous man will hardly get into heaven.

Maybe you're referring to a "righteous man?"

If more Christians would learn to use the spell-checker, then maybe atheists would quit assuming that all of us Christians are blabbering idiots.

I think Abraham did the best negotiating anyone could have done --with anyone-- at that point. How much more with the Lord?

He was able to pare it down from 50 righteous men, to 40 righteous men, to 30... to 20... and finally down to ONLY 10 righteous men to be found, and Sodom would not have been doomed. That was the final deal made.

Anything less in a crowded city would be pitiful and pathetic even by today's standards. Don't you think?

Peace be with you.

i'm a techniques from a Biblical pupil, yet i understand the tale you cite, and that i assume i could say that on a similar time as Abraham's "bargaining" with God is unusual, Abraham replaced into held in extreme regard via God, and God bargained with the intention to coach Abraham approximately judgment and mercy. the thought the whole inhabitants of Sodom ought to pay a toll, notwithstanding if there have been some righteous adult adult males performs into the previous testomony view of retributive justice, and why undesirable issues sometimes take place to solid human beings. This topic is performed out greater interior the e book of activity. in case you view the Bible actually, you will in contrast to my view, that the tale of the destruction of Sodom replaced into an illustrative tale which won't be factually actual. there are various such thoughts interior the Bible, they serve to coach human beings morales or instructions.

What if there never was a city of sodom, what if any human has a homosexual side, and what if being homosexual isn't wrong at all.

You can believe in whatever you think right, but you religion should never judge any other creature. Being gay isn't bad, smoking isn't bad, even alcohol is (not always) bad.

Why do people care about God doing this and that in the old times, we live now, and we should accept each other qualities...

Ultimately the scripture holds true where it speaks of God saying, "It is unthinkable of you that you are acting in this manner to put to death the righteous man with the wicked one so that it has to occur with the righteous man as it does with the wicked! It is unthinkable of you. Is the Judge of all the earth not going to do what is right?" -Genesis 18:25

There ended up being only three righteous persons living in Sodom, and God delivered those three. Lot and his two daughters. And God saved them.

If there were not even 10 righteous men in Sodom, you can see why God destroyed it and Gomorrah. In the Old testament Justice was swift, but God gave them a chance to repent.

The principal difficulty Abraham had was in finding the word "richetous" in any dictionary. Since he couldn't, the city had to go.

And people think spelling isn't important!

I don't see how that taught anyone a better way to live.

And I'm not sure why "sodomy" has become synonymous with "anal sex" as God was surely more concerned with the gang rape aspect of the situation than the gender of the individuals. "Sodomites," as used in the rest of the Bible, really means "those of low morals and poor behavior."

Those are my thoughts.

I bet there were "righteous" children and unborn babies. You know, if I found an are with lots of salt or red dirt or round rocks, I might make up a dumb story about why it got that way and try to sell it to my kids.

God will never condone sin, But he has made a way for us to escape, God took all the righteous out of Sodem before he destroy it, & he will take his bride out of this earth before the great tribulation sets in.
