Anyone see a problem with churches saying it is a sin to masterbate and shame kids when they can't help it?

Yes it's a problem. The Catholic church does look on it as a sin, but a minor one. They know that it's part of growing up.

But remember: you CAN help it. You won't explode of you don't masturbate. No body part will wither and fall off. Yes, it is natural, but it isn't beyond your control.

Actually most churches don't. A church has to be even further to the right than even such a conservative leader as James Dobson of Focus on the Family. See link. I do note however that practically all churches condemn lust and pornography which sometimes accompany masturbation.

That's the idea.

Religions use emotional manipulation to get and keep converts.

By making rules that people can't follow, religions play on people's natural tendency to feel guilty. That's why they go after controlling private matters, such as sex. If they can get people to feel guilty, they can fill the pews and empty their pockets.

I personally have never sat inside of any church anywhere and heard this said or preached.

Yes, I do. I feel exactly the same way about their hounding and shame of gay kids.

The reason why they don't want the kids to masturbate is because they'd rather have the kids save it all up for the priests.
