Islam has taught me lots and lots of marvelous things, including what you mentioned plus:

To sympathize with every one needs so and my best to help them regardless of their religion.

To have ethics where no one do, to have ethics in war, prophet Muhamed, peace be upon him, used to tell Sahaba (his companions) in every war not to cut trees, not to touch a woman, a baby or an old man, not to attack night not to terrify innocent people.

To be a good man for every one in the community regardless of their religion.

To obey my parents and never get them upset with me whatever the price is.

To be initiative and don't wait for others to do what should be done.

...........too many to list here.

Religion has taught me there is a duality to life. In all religious works there is both great evil and great good. We are all one in the most basic sense of the word. We are boundless; but place limitations on ourselves because of religions, government bodies, and other people.
The search for the "best" religion has also taught me how to be wary of anything that speaks of judgment, hatred, bigotry, the stop of scientific advancement, or behaves as if we are not just an extension of the natural and animal world.
We are only separated by our ability to create; which is the greatest aspect of human beings.
And the greatest thing I have learned with religions, is to question...question every day. Don't blindly believe, you might be signing up for something that is actually more evil than you could imagine.

Human Organized Religion is a human practice with ever evolving teachings.

Human Organized Religion is not a person.

True Religion is personal God-consciousness and continual learning in Spirit ALL TRUTH in/of our loving and merciful Universal Father God and our Relationship in/to Him.

The One Creator Father GOD of Islamics and Christians and all religionists is THE SAME ONE PERSON that we may all worship and obey.

Is a Rose by any other name less a Rose ? No.

Well, as a Buddhist I believe that all religions can be correct. In the words of the Dalai Lama, "the best religion is the one that gets you closest to God. It is the one that makes you a better person.” If that religion is Christianity, then you should become a Christian. If that religion is Islam, then I wish you to find Islam. If it happens no religion is best for you, then why should I say "find a religion?"

My religion which is the Christian religion taught me:
- Having faith in all situations. Knowing that GOD is alive and will see me through.
- It also taught me humanity and respect
- My religion also taught me how to be a good daughter to my parents, wife to my husband and mother to my children. The bible has all the guidelines enabling us to live a GOD fearing life

Moderation in all things
Good things can come from destruction, while bad things can come from creation (and, of course, vice versa)
Challenge presumptions
There is no such thing as a free lunch
Everything goes somewhere, so deal with it properly
My actions are my own responsibility
Live life to its fullest
Everyone is fallible
The Truth is too big for one religion
Great reward most often comes from face great challenges

My religion has taught me:

-That everything I had been looking for, I had all along, inside of me and right outside my door.
-To protect and care for what is around us. To care for what we have.
-The plant is not ours to do with what we want but that we are blessed to share space with everything on it. Treasure it.
-That there is a higher power and I am humbled.

Blessed Be.

I'm an atheist. I was raised Catholic, and that taught me that I was going to hell for a variety of reasons, most of which had to do with my biology as a human being. Hence my atheism.

To be perfectly honest with you, I am more interested in what it taught Osama bin laden....it taught him to hate and to kill anyone who isn't a muslin....He seems pretty committed to his religion to me. Why does he see it one way and you see it another. There are apparently a lot of Muslims who feel the same way..They ask those in America how they felt about suicide bombers..Know what they said,,,yeah...they think it is keeping with the Muslim religion. Where do they get that from...the same book you read?
