For example, within islam, you're automatically a muslim if one of your parents is muslim, you can't change your faith once you're a muslim, and you can't marry a non-muslim. These are nice ideas, but I'm sure we can do better. Any other suggestions?

For those unaware (gasp!) of the FSM Church, go sip a beer while netsurfing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster , before answering this question - instead of blindly hunting for points. Thank you.

P.S.: Point-hunting in the name of the FSM will be greatly appreciated by the Spaghedeity, but not from "the Great Yahoo in the Machine".

This will apply more to those who have known me for a while.

In my previous question, Kallan said (in part):

"... The biggest problem is in trying to convince christians who believe that they are "in this world but not of this world" and that "Jesus will come back and fix all of the problems" so they have no responsibility to it. ..."

I'm in absolute agreement with this statement (and I acknowledge that there are exceptions, but not enough).

The tipping point for global warming is a lot closer than most people suspect. Melt the arctic permafrost and that's it, game over. We'll be lucky if we have 50 years before that happens.

In other words, I'm not so keen on respecting beliefs that are leading to the death of life on this planet.

And I've over 500 questions challenging christians about their beliefs to get them pointed in the right direction (with very little success, I might add).

What say you?

I was thinking that we would have to go back to polygamy for just a while so that we could create another increase in membership.

After all if we didn't have polygamy the church would not have lasted for well over a thousand months!

Or should the Christian know that I'm just being a good samaritan by "reminding them"?

We all have the rite to believe in what we want, just because we are not all christian it does not make us or our religion evil.

Christians say you will go to hell if you are not christian, but arn't they braking one of thier 10 commandments. "You must not give false evidence against your neighbour". number 9.

This is what the christians have done to pagan and other
religions, saying that we are all evil that we worship the devil and stuff over thousands of years. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!

Why are people being so mean to me for asking questions in pure honesty? I don't want to say christains either because some have been very nice and understanding of my youthful curiosity.

But some of you....how can you say you are passing on the word of god when you ridicule questions, promote hate, and turn your back on a different part of the world?

I am not a Christian, obviously, but there are many other young like me who recieve mixed messages about your doctrine when the Bible, as well as so many preach goodness. Yet, there are so many hypocrits who would be served well by living by their own "supposed" doctrine.

Instead of committing and repenting for sin, why not try to eliminate it all forever.

"All humans sin......"

Yeah, you are probably right, but that is only because no one has made it through life without sinning before....

Why accept mediocricy? Why be the helpless creatures that ate the apple so many years ago? God gave you free will! Use it!!!

How can anyone say that the future of our planet and humanity is NOT a spiritual issue?

First, forgive me if I sound like a christian newbie, but there is an extreme need for more people to embrace nature and life on this planet, and this need does have a deadline, after which the planet will be tipped into a disastrous future.

How do you approach issues like global warming and the destruction of forests and the extinction of species without trying to convince people to adopt a more pagan attitude towards the world and our place in it?

Do you think Jesus might have been aborted? There wouldn't be any Christions yet of course. So abortion might be even more prevalent than it is now.

Numbers 22

27 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam was angry and struck the donkey with his stick. 28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?" 29 Then Balaam said to the donkey, "Because you have made a mockery of me! If there had been a sword in my hand, I would have killed you by now." 30 The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden all your life to this day? Have I ever been accustomed to do so to you?" And he said, "No."

So basically, YHWH gave the donkey the ability to speak. So either he gave it intelligence too or spoke through the donkey.

I think the Catholic church should be obolished for its terrible sins against the children. Why do ppl still go to Mass after the priests raped the kids? True, not all priests are guilty, but why would one take the risk? The fact that one priest is guilty is enough to forever destroy the so called image of moral authority in my view. These alleged representatives of god, and there have way more than one, hundreds in fact, who hide behind god, and f*ck our kids, sully the entire image of the church.

So, an african baby is born in Zimbabwe. She grows up to be a hunter-gatherer, spends her days picking grapes. At night she comes home and lovingly raises her family. She takes care of the town ill, and never hurt anybody.

Now of course, she has never sinned--with one exception. Obviously, she has never heard the name Jesus Christ before, and has no mental conept of god. Therefore, she has "sinned."

How can someone like this go to hell?
