Numbers 22

27 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam was angry and struck the donkey with his stick. 28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?" 29 Then Balaam said to the donkey, "Because you have made a mockery of me! If there had been a sword in my hand, I would have killed you by now." 30 The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden all your life to this day? Have I ever been accustomed to do so to you?" And he said, "No."

So basically, YHWH gave the donkey the ability to speak. So either he gave it intelligence too or spoke through the donkey.

The Bible says," And the Lord opened the mouth of the ***."
It does not say he gave it intelligence or that he spoke through the donkey. (You said that).
The Lord created the universe. I think he can make a donkey talk. The donkey said what I would expect him to say under the circumstances, basically "why are you hitting me?"
What I do question is your reason for bring up this subject. You seem to be making a mockery of God.
Maybe you should consider Galatians 6:7 "Be not deceived: God is not mocked:for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he reap."

Choose the correct response:
A. Balaam was eating hallucinogenic mushrooms
B. God decided He was bored and wanted to play a practical joke on this particular mortal
C. The donkey was a mutant donkey and would have been the next generation of Super donkeys if Balaam didn't follow through on his death threat shortly after this conversation.

If you do not believe in God, then the whole bible is BS, including the talking donkey. So let it go. You don't believe, so it doesn't matter what is in there. If you do believe in God, then the God that made the universe could certainly make one donkey talk. Right? Pure logic. Try it. Peace.

Did you not read where it said that the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey. God is perfect and if he wants to get your attn he will do whatever it takes to do that. The animal new that there was trouble but would not go. But Balaam insisted. God was trying to tell Ballaam something.

In Balaam's day, a talking donkey was a miracle. In our day, it's a miracle if you can get one to shut up!

Okay, it's an old joke, but I couldn't resist repeating it.
We can only speculate as to whether it was God speaking through the animal, or the animal itself.
I would say the animal, based on the reading of scripture.

The Bible is a good book, it's full of wisdom. SYMBOLIC wisdom, which is what people seem not to understand. Physically, it's impossible for a monkey to talk, they don't have vocal chords like we do.

What the donkey represents in that story is the type of person that after being submitted for years, finally rebels against her opressor at the sight of the real higher power, which gives her the strength to do it. The message is that God will help you stand tall on your feet, no matter how abused you are.

That's my opinion anyways

Aside from a talking donkey, doesn't it seem odd that Balaam would casually have a conversation with a talking donkey without first saying something like...

"HOLY SH*T, YOU'RE A DONKEY AND YOU CAN TALK!!!"

" So either he gave it intelligence too or spoke through the donkey."

It could be that He spoke through the donkey or it could more likely be that He translated the animals feelings into language that a human could understand. Obviously a donkey is not that erudite but just like God uses accommodating language to explain things to us, so too could He upgrade the primitive thoughts and feelings of a donkey to make them understandable to a human.

There's a reason for everything in the bible.....I do promise you this!! And until you've had a "Born-Again" "Spirit-Filled" relationship with the Lord, none of the word of God will make sense to you!! This happened to me, I even got so frustrated I began to cry, because I hugered for God's word, once I got filled with the Holy Spirit, right.. so, I prayed one evening for God to open up His Word for me to better understand it, and for it to take on New Meaning for me to use in my everyday living!! And God answered my prayer the very next day!! And after that I was hooked, line and sinker!! But I swam I never sank, cuz God showed me how to keep my head above water through His Word!!! His word is our book as to how to live prosperous , well rounded, Fabulously Guided lives with love, and peace and many blessings upon our lives and those we pray for!! So, if you think a talking donkey seems strange, what about a demonicly possessed snake talking Eve into making her mate Adam into eating the deadly apple with her?!!! HOH, HOH???? Smile!!

God can do it whichever way He wants to. I will say that the donkey showed more sense than the prophet who kept on denying God's commands. Sounds like a lot of people on this planet who seem to think God is a relic of the past and not worthy of consideration at all, or those who mock the things of God as if they will never have any accountability for it.

God used a rooster to speak to Peter too in a different way, and when Jesus entered Jerusalem the disciples told him to tell the people to stop praising Him to which Jesus replied,
"If they cease to praise me the very rocks will cry out."
