So, an african baby is born in Zimbabwe. She grows up to be a hunter-gatherer, spends her days picking grapes. At night she comes home and lovingly raises her family. She takes care of the town ill, and never hurt anybody.

Now of course, she has never sinned--with one exception. Obviously, she has never heard the name Jesus Christ before, and has no mental conept of god. Therefore, she has "sinned."

How can someone like this go to hell?

What do you mean "why do I care about some woman in Africa?"

How can I not care? That's a better question.

Wow...just wow

Questions like this show a very small mind.

Are you seeking to judge God?

He alone knows the heart of every individual and deals with everyone on an individual basis and His dealings are perfect.

Just as He deals with you as an individual.

That He is full of love and mercy seems to have escaped your hypothetical question.

In any event, shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

Is He not able to inspire any to do His will and to seek after Him?

And is God not able to devise ways and means that His banished should not be expelled from Him?

You are too mean in your heart and spirit in your regard of God.

You are also lamentably ignorant of sin in what you write.

When you become aware of your own sin you will be on the first step to understanding the love and mercy of God and a clue to the answer to your very weighted, set up question.

We are assured that there will be many surprises on the Day of Judgment and it would be sad indeed if you, having had the blessings and opportunities that your hypothetical African baby did not have, yet spurned them, to rightly increase your judgment, whilst she, in her ignorance, nevertheless responded to the love of God to find that she had indeed responded to the Saviour, to her eternal happiness.

Truly God is far from the proud but is close to the poor and humble.

I do hope you might give more consideration to these matters than you have thus far.

Your knowledge of God and His ways, your concept of God, appears to be non existent or at any rate very sadly lacking. Less than the African baby you arrogantly judge.

It is not wise to mock God nor presume that you know better than Him.

The whole world falls guilty before God and must stop it's mouth for He concludes all in unbelief that He might show mercy to all.

Some of you have absolutely no clue about the true nature of God. The Bible cannot stress enough that God is so holy that NO sin can stand in His presence, not even 1 "tiny" sin.

Lets start with your African woman, God says you did OK, come on in. The next guy comes and says, "Well I've only done 1 more sin then her" God says, you can come in too. By your backwards logic eventually God will allow Satan and all the demons into heaven, because how could He send to hell someone who did only one more sin than the person he just let into heaven?

Awesome question! One star for you. You pinpointed Christianity's dirty little secret by highlighting the gaping chasm within Christian doctrine: that 4.5 billion of the planet's non-Christians will be condemned to an eternity in the fiery pits of hell for not buying into their delusion - so sayeth their God of "love". Whether they lived before JC's time or lived in a part of the world not exposed to Christian teachings is irrelevant to true Christian doctrine.

Believers don't want to face what their bible spells out very clearly. (It's also the reason they repeatedly attempt to scare us into believing via Pascal's Wager*)

The cult of Jesus has made them myopic in their blind faith. This tunnel vision has convinced them that since they've found the "Truth", everyone else must be evil. Life for a believer is a life of simplicity. You are either good or bad; Heaven or Hell; Right and Wrong. There are no gray areas for the true believer.

It never occurs to them 150 other major** religions in the world believe in a different god / afterlife concept. The chances that Christianity won the religious lottery and picked the right God are .6%. Put another way, there's a 99.4% chance they're wrong.

"I’ve never understood how God could expect his creatures to pick the one true religion by faith – it strikes me as a sloppy way to run a universe."
— Robert A. Heinlein

"What I'm saying is, if God wanted to send us a message, and ancient writings were the only way he could think of doing it, he could have done a better job."
— Carl Sagan

G-d does not mass judge people. He is not going to take all the non-believers into a large group and say, "well, I didn't give you a chance, or I did and you ignored it. Anyway, I hope you had a nice life because you are all going to hell."

It doesn't work that way. G-d is very aware of all of our circumstances. We are only responsible for what we are capable of knowing. We cannot be judged for what we could not know - otherwise G-d would not be a justice G-d.

G-d is a G-d of compassion also. Judgement cannot stand alone or it becomes harsh and cruel. Love cannot stand alone because it would allow everything. So the tempering of the two is compassion - showing justice and love at the same time. This is what will happen for those who do not have an opportunity to fully know G-d. And it by no means means that they are lost.

Salvation is a gift from God. Jesus paid the penalty for sin so we would not have to.

Anyone who has not had the opportunity to hear the gospel will be judged by the way they lived and obeyed the laws of their culture.

1TIM2:3-6

3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

From this we know that God wishes all to be saved and condemning a person who never had the chance to learn of the gospel would be a very cruel and unloving act. That is not what the God I love is like.

To answer your question - You limit God! HERE IS AN EXAMPLE AND A TRUE STORY!

Some missionaries heard of a tribe that nobody had ever gone to see with the gospel because they were virtually inaccessible. They resolved that they would go no matter what it took and they hacked their way through dense brush and fought bug and snakes but finally reached the natives living in the village.

When they got there they were amazed to find out that the entire tribe was Christian. The chief told them that Jesus came to visit them and spoke of His death and resurrection and the entire village believed in Him and was saved.

Point is that God is not a respecter of persons, and has His way of reaching out to that African woman and everyone else who comes from any background. Because of this I believe that everyone will have their chance before they go out into eternity. God is a God of justice and mercy! That is why none of us is in Hell today! His mercy is always reaching out to us so we don't have to experience His retribution!

Once again, it is not the "not knowing God" that gets you condemned to hell, but the sin you have committed. It is pure fantasy to think that a human can make it through life on their own and live up to God's standard. It's that very belief that has most of the world condemned already.

This would require NEVER:
-taking something not yours (at any age)
-telling a "tiny" lie
-being jealous
-looking lustfully at someone not your spouse
-hating anyone
- + many more NEVERS

stop trying to find a loop hole and repent of your sin and serve God instead of yourself.

She wont go to hell, she will go to heaven with the rest of the good people. God is merciful, and compassionate, why would he send a good woman to hell, for a sin she didn't even know she had. God Is LOVE.
He is not SPITEFUL.

But of course she will go to heaven she is Gods child.
Don't listen to those who try to tell you other wise. God is good all the time. That business of cursing your children and your children's children is simply man made I do not believe a word of it and either should you.
The Bible is a guide but it has missing parts because through the ages it has gone through too many hands with agendas. Survived too many eras and is probably tainted.
Sorry but thats the conclusion I've come to.
