According to TheKnot.com, I should use about $650 towards expenses for my ceremony.

I'm having a Catholic Wedding. So, I know that aisle runners, pew decorations, unity candles and excess decorations are generally, not allowed.

Therefore, how much should it cost? Is there a fee for the use of the church? I know generally there is a donation made, but are there an mandatory fees?

Someone please explain about how much a Catholic wedding ceremony should cost

I'm trying to put together a budget.

Ecclestiastes

2 Do not be quick with your mouth,
do not be hasty in your heart
to utter anything before God.
God is in heaven
and you are on earth,
so let your words be few.
Why should God be angry at what you say and destroy the work of your hands? 7 Much dreaming and many and many words are meaningless. Therefore stand in awe of God.

I have got friends and family who are of varying Christian denominations. According to many on Yahoo R&S, I am going to hell because I have no religious affiliations. Some users have asked me if I want to go to heaven with my Christian family and friends. So will I miss all of Christian friends and family or will I only miss some of them? Somebody please help me out, I am so confused?

Can you be a Christian and support the death penalty?

My mom says Yes because the Bible states you must obey the laws of the land.

My dad says NO because Jesus taught against it.

Your opinions?

Concepts are ideas that may or may not be believed. We often grasp a concept because we want to believe it, and say we believe it, but our experience may show us differently, and mind believes what it's experience demonstrates.

We may say we believe in God, or that life is illusion, mind, duality, self is illusion, but we continue to act as though there is no God and life and self are very real. We do this because that's what mind truly believes to be so. There are concepts which make sense and we would like to believe, and there is what we truly believe and respond to in our daily lives. Seems to me It's important to know the difference.

Beliefs are not knowing. Mind can never really know anything absolutely because creation and perception are the same. The act of perceiving is a movement in Consciousness that creates that perception, much the same way you create your nightly dreams. There is a level at which mind knows it can know nothing for certain.

It doesn't make sense...

Yes, they all have wheels, but some are powered, others aren't. Some are enormous, while others are tiny. Some make noise, others are quiet. Some can carry many people, others only one. Some make pollution, other's do not. Some are aesthetically pleasing, others are ugly

How can these different forms of transportation possibly be related. All they have in common are wheels???

Yet, every single one of them descended from a common "ancestor" - THE WAGON - and none of them really look like wagons.

That is today's lesson in logic folks. Enjoy.

Look. You can't just concentrate on Christians for believing in a religion. For example... You can't blame people for believing that the U.S will, i dunno, win the football world cup sometime. No matter how ridiculous it sounds, it's just a belief.

I'm more of an atheistic catholic.... I think it's a great institution, and it's a good way to live your lifeI don't agree with Catholic views on contraception and homosexuality, and I suppose not believing in God is another problem, but catholicism is a good moral compass to live your life by.

Anyway. I'm an intelligent person, I've read up on and understand things like evolution, and geology, and plate tectonics, and biology and astrophysics. And I'm also INTERESTED (just interested) in theology, so I've read on that too.

Anyway. Be careful in using the generalisation "Christians" when referring to the crazies that refuse to believe in little things like evolution, and the age of the earth etc.

It's insulting to the rest of us.

He keep on saying how its fake and false that it comes from scriptures. These Mormon guys(missionaries) have been coming to my house and they left me the book, so far i had two lessons with them, they are coming tomorrow, they are really nice people, and i enjoy learning about it. I just read the chapter about faith from Alma, they left me that chapter to read. It is awesome, i felt so good and relief after i read it, since i'm gay..... Anywho i won't burn the book, i will continue to learn and i still haven't told them i'm gay. I'll ignore you if you talk smack.

I have read here that Christians don't hate the person , just the evil acts. Witches do many good things, just as anyone else does. If what you say is true, if you really do not hate the person who is a Witch, you just hate the evil she does, lets say this particular Witch is like the Mother Teresa of Witches and she does nothing wrong in anyone's eyes. Would you think of her as a good person then? If not why not and PLEASE NO SCRIPTURES!

no scriptures, no "it is written" no cut and paste miles of bible, I want you totell me what you yourself think, please, with all respect and sincerity. I appreciate it very much and thank you!

directly? Why can't he forgive humans our current sins directly? Why was Jesus' blood sacrifice necessary for god to be appeased?

Does this even make any sense at all to you? It may have made sense to barbaric people who thought stoning disobedient children to death was an appropriate punishment. To a rational human being, it makes no sense at all.

It does make sense however, if you realize it is nothing more than a barbaric primitive myth.

Isn't there a law that says that nothing new can be created? In order for something new to come along, something else must be changed? Silica into glass, being one of the simpler examples. A more complex example is burning paper. The paper is lost, but ashes, carbon dioxide, water, and smoke arise. The ammount of "stuff" always stays the same.

So, if this is true, then spirits can't come about. I mean, a baby can. You take a sperm and an egg, combine them, and you feed it an nourish it and it grows. The things the mother eats are eventually turned into ATP to nourish the baby, but where does the baby's spirit come from? If it just "comes about" wouldn't that break that law? Wouldn't that imbalance things, maybe even tear a hole in the universe (just being overdramatic).

After all, the laws of nature are unbreakable. No matter how hard you tell yourself you will survive a jump from a high building, if you jump, gravity will push you into the ground HARD.

What do you guys think?

I founded very frustrating or very comical as I went through because the book sounded more like it was written by someone who barely understood the topic at hand rather than someone who was a devout Wiccan and had passion for his believes. I felt that he spent more time writing about why Paganism is faulty and trying to disprove it than on his actual spiritual journey from the path of a Pagan to that of a Christian. I was hoping more for the experiences, events, and people on that might have helped him realize that the path was not for him and how he came to those conclusions...I was deeply dissapointed. What are your thoughts? Did this help anyone?

for me, I have nothing I am thankfull for...but I am searching...

life: everything is meanless, this life is nothing more then a test.

wife and children...as per christians.... are nothing for there is no need for a wife in heaven and there children are no more. 1 Cor 7:29.

wisdom and knowlage: again nothing when you die.

heaven: as per christians....if you are so altered from the woman you love, how can heaven be even real? you are forced to like heaven.

Jesus: as per christians, you are not aloud to be perfect, so Jesus can be cursifyed. Only way G-d can love me and forgive me for my sins so I can go to heaven. So if Jesus had to be a sacrfice and God made sure with all his power that he was, he did not love his son...so the gift is evil in my eye's.

Gods love: if he is nothing but fear then how can he love us...all I hear from christians are I just want to get there and I do not care about anything eles..fear. Fear of him, fear of his rightousness, fear of hell..

Do they define "purpose in life" as wasting this one in the hope of an afterlife?

I feel that I am much more driven in life than many religious people I know. Just curious if anyone can find logic in the claim.
