Because the Jews have kept Sabbath in an unbroken chain since before Jesus came. Only someone who hadnt concidered the facts would say we cant know which day was Sabbath. Gregorian callander only changed the dates not the weekly cycle.

Not even the leap year has no effect on the weekly cycle.
Only three times in history did God write with his finger.
When the woman was caught in adultery, when he wrote on the wall in Babylon and when He wrote the 10 commandments in STONE.

Papal decree. Jesus' resurrection on Sunday made it an easy sell.
As a Jew, Jesus honored the sabbath, but fought City Hall on whether the law mandating rest was more important than alleviating human suffering.

The Sabbath is the seventh day of the week as stated in the book that defines it and by the people who wrote it; Israelites.
Muslems explain why it is Friday. Christians say Sunday replaces it. Everyone wants to hijack the religion of Israel and their customs so they can claim the promises.
Logically, none of this can be PROVEN. It's not like determining the 3rd planet from the sun... Someone just decided one day and it caught on. Like the width of railroad tracks. They don't HAVE to be 56.5 inches wide. And stating that god made it so doesn't help use arrive at truth.

The Sabbath is Saturday, always was, always will be.
However for Christians the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the first day of the week (Sunday) replaces the Sabbath as the day of ceremonial observance of the Commandment to keep the Lord's Day holy.
The Catholic Church is Apostolic, it follows the teaching and practice of the Apostles. In the 20th chapter of the Act of the Apostles, the church in Troas gathered on the first day of the week, Sunday.
The first Christians were Jews. They went to temple or synagogue on the Sabbath (Saturday) with fellow Jews.
Then they gathered on the first day of the week, the day on which Jesus rose from the dead (Sunday), with fellow Christians to tell stories of Jesus and share Eucharist. See Acts 20:7.
Later Gentiles joined Christianity. The Apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, decided that the Gentiles did not have to covert to Judaism. Therefore, they only attended on Sundays and did not have to abide by Jewish dietary laws.
This biblical practice inspired by the Holy Spirit has been followed ever since.
With love in Christ.

Every four years our calendar is so out of sync with the natural world that we add a day to the year. If there is a divine rule to the days of the week, I think it is probably way less important than the one that says "don't kill".
Or if you were in a coma for a few weeks, what day of the week would it be when you woke up. If the calendar in front of you said it was Saturday, would you pray? If you later found out that the calendar just did not get flipped and it was Sunday, do you think God would have not heard your prayers?
Or would not take them seriously?

PENTECOST it occurred on a Sunday and so the new Christians (at hat time called "the WAY" ) celebrated the sabbath on the day the Holy Spirit came down. Interesting huh?
personally I don't think it matters WHICH day of the week is kept holy. I mean our relationship with GOD is personal and we SHOULD set one day aside for HIM and revel in His creation and enjoy our life and give Him thanks and praise far all the things He has done. Whether it's Saturday Sunday Wednesday or Friday. Pick a day and spend it with our Holy Father.

Christians realize that the Sabbath - the Jewish day of worship - was and still is Saturday. But the Christian day of worship has been Sunday since the very beginning. The Apostles chose Sunday because it was more fitting to celebrate worship on the day of Christ's glorious Resurrection than on the day He lay dead in the tomb. Which is why the Bible tells us that they met "on the first day of the week" for worship.

Most do not question what they are told by a preacher. I remember from Elmer Gantry a scene described where a 19 year old kid is explaining life to a 60 year old farm woman from the Midwest.

kinda but the sabbath doesn't have to be Sat. or Sun. It can be any day of the week that you make it, because the Sabbath is a day of rest. Because some of us don't have time to rest on Sun. or Sat.

What makes you think that the Sabbath was originally on "Saturday". The bible was authored LONG before we started using the Gregorian calender.
