I want a real answer. And if you go by Leviticus, you should also be avoiding shellfish, pork, and rare steak. So what else?

Corinthians... puh-leaze...

I wonder how many of you live the law you bash others over the head with?

1 Corinthians, chapter 11:

4: Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head,
5: but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled dishonors her head -- it is the same as if her head were shaven.
6: For if a woman will not veil herself, then she should cut off her hair; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her wear a veil.

Do all you ladies cover your heads when you pray? Have you men done your part and shaved the heads of any women in church without a lid?

Homosexuality has always been here! Ancient Greeks
viewed Homosxuality as a right of passage for young men
to enter, its a natural human emotion. What harm comes
from being gay? a straight person is not total perfection
either! many straight men commit Sodomy on their wives
seeking a more pleasurable opening): more Heterosexual
marriages end up in devorse by the millions yearly, so being
straight will not gaurantee a happy glorious relationship.
People fear what they dont understand` so then they feel
they have a right to condemn it! you can not convert someone
into becoming gay` and you can not convert someone into
being straight, its how we are born. If your Religious beliefs
say other wise? then thats your belief, but you do not have
the right to inflict your beliefs on others, who dont subscribe
to your belief system. Bottom line is> your not GOD! and
if God has a problem with Homosexuality? then let him
deal with the issue, for we all are unclean in his eyes!
and believe it or not` (Heterosexuals are too.)

There is nothing wrong with being gay. People will use outdated references in Leviticus to justify their intolerance. It is always easy to point at somebody else's lifestyle instead of concentrating on their personal faults. Jesus said it best when he referred to Pharisees, people with self-righteous judgments, etc. "Judge not" -- but it never matters to those people about how they will face the same judgments.

For those who use Leviticus, check out the rest of the rules in the book -- ALL OF THEM -- and then justify why the one about gay people is supposedly more important than eating shrimp, etc.

For those who use the New Testament, follow EVERYTHING that Paul says in his letters to the churches. Are women being quiet and submitting to men? Do women cover their heads, etc.?

Not just some but all Christians should be saying homosexuality is wrong. Its a sin just like adultery, fornication, hate, stealing, unforgiviness,
drunkenness, witchcraft, murder. I would hope that all Christians would say sin is wrong no matter what the sin. If they don't its simple, read John 3:17-21.

Let me tell you something: you say that "If you go by Leviticus... etc". So you are a person of reason. That's so great! That's fine. Then, reason this:

I find it disgusting that my dog rips the trash bags. It's wrong, I hate it because I have to collect all the trash, because I hate trash, because it's filthy and disgusting. But the dog only thinks "Oh, it's food. I'm hungry"

There is the gay man. He thinks "Oh, I'm horny. I'm not doing anything wrong, I'm just doing what I feel to." And he goes further, justifing his own actions "How can a loving God punish me for something I like?! I'm not hurting anyone. There musn't be such God!"

The dog isn't hurting anyone. But I punish him because "I hate trash". There is nothing objectively wrong with trash. It's just matter that is useless for me and ugly, so I don't like it. Now, what if by any chance there was a God (it's a 50/50, science cannot prove it or disprove it!!) and he hated homosexuals because he simply finds it ugly? He'd say "Hey, I made you men and women, and now you're doing such disgusting things!!" You'd be in a big trouble!! He doesn't need any reasons, he's God! He just doesn't like it and will punish you big time.

> You have your scriptures, chapters and verses where we are warned against this practice. I you want to ask a challenging question, find where in the bible it says nobody can use birth-control if they are married and just trying not to bring children into the world they can't provide for properly. Old Testament says in one special instance not to spill your seed on the ground, and we should go forth and multiply. We have more than accomplished that and yet one of the largest and richest churches in the world will not give support to birth-control in Africa were AIDS is rampant, and babies are starving because their parents are dieing. Find a verse for me on that, please.

I have seen you have been given many scriptures out of the New Testament.

You ask who do we follow Paul or Jesus. We follow Jesus, Apostle Paul brought forth the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus sent him to preach the gospel and to write the epistles. Paul was converted by Jesus Christ. If we follow what Paul said we ARE following Jesus.

"If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination." (Leviticus 20:13)
i believe that this is why Christians concider homosexuality wrong,i don't think that this passage is open for interpretation as far as most Christians are concerned .i'm a pagan and do not subscribe to the dogma of the bible ok.

All sexual relations outside of marriage are against God's moral law.

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.

The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.

The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."

Here is the text of the document, On the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons (1986): http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df86ho.htm

With love in Christ.

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

Romans 1

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,[c] wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving,[d] unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
