I am seriously asking this question. I am told this person is a 'true' christian but that person is not a 'true' christian. So can anyone define what a 'true' christian is?

Now, this needs to be said . There are over 1,000 sects (branchs) of christianity. There are the large groups like the lutherans, baptists, methodist and so on. But there are also small groups that proclaim to be christian like the branch davidians, 7th day, JW's, and so forth also proclaim to be christian. There are differences between each group. So there can't be a single code to be a christian. Thus my opinion is to be a christian all you have to do is believe in the christian god and jesus. everything else is subject to opinion of the group in question.

Someone posted that Allah and the 'christian God' are not the same, so I posted this:
"I believe in Allah, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Marry, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and buried, He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead."

which is part of The Apostles Creed only instead of saying God I put Allah (which is just arabi for God). I got four emails from people saying im evil. Why does that tick you off so much?

I have a baby girl who is about 16 months old, and she speaks in full sentences, it just sounds strange because she is small and speaks in that little baby voice. She beams thoughts into my mind sometimes...like, "mama, I don't like her" or "I'm scared." There is a lot of examples I can give, but I just hope someone can understand.

Now, I am native american (meherrin) and african american, and my husband is dark skinned european. Our baby came out the color of a pale white person. She doesn't tan in full sun, nor does she burn. I have dark brown eyes, and my husband has light brown eyes...but baby has carribbean blue eyes with purplish and amber flecks in the iris. She also has blond hair, and both of us have dark hair.

She sings this haunting melody every morning. She sounds almost like a bird when she sings it. She told me sister taught it to her at home. Well, she is our only child!! There is no sister. And...what 'home'?? I'm kind of freaked out.

Ok, i have been a christian for 7 years now. I go to church as much as i can, its my home away from home. I read the bible just about everyday. When you talk to me, you can tell im christian, because i have been told i have the light showing through me. I love God with all of my heart and more. But theres a problem. I feel like i am not onfire for God. I cant raise my hand in church, and i am not as close to God as i would like to be. I pray as much as possible to make me closer bto him, but it doesnt seem to be working. How can i have a strong air-tight bond with God? please only answer if you know, because i dont need more confusion.

Christians believe that the doctrine of the Trinity is clearly based on the Biblical revelation only.
For any religion, it is of importance to be right on the nature of God. If it is God's intention to correct the Christian corruptions and heretical abberations of the true understanding of Himself by this new revelation through the Qur'an, why does the Qur'an get it so woefully wrong?
Why is the Qur'an so concerned to condemn a "tri-theism of God, Mary and Jesus", which no Christian believes in anyway, instead of clearifying the mistake in regard to the true Christian doctrine being the "Trinity of God Father, Son and Holy Spirit"?

This is something that I really don't understand with the christian community. They were the cross all the time. It is their holy symbol. But yet they are not to have any idol( symbol) worship. They want to insult of faiths religious symbols like the pentacle for the pagans. Yet no person ever died on the pentacle, But the cross is a way that thousands and thousands of people have died. And if those christians did a little research, they would discover that the pentacle that they love to insult was an early religious symbol of the christians.

The pagan community is a diverse community with many interesting views. But many also have a strong basic theme. So could the Pagan community united and form a religious/ political/ social powerbase and make better changes in the US and the world.

The christians are always carrying on about how violent muslims are, while ignoring there own violence through history with crusades, inqusitions, whitch burnings and those fun loving Jesuit missionaries, among other such horrors of history.

The spread of Islam through violence is well documented. It really DID spread rapidly through Africa, Europe and Asia at the tip of a sword. For those unfamiliar with the history, the attached article is quite concise.

Don't both sides have as violent a past as each other?

there are very few people in this world that i "hate." my step-sister is one of them. she is the most jealous, vile, conniving person i have ever met. i know that deep down inside she has very little love for anyone but herself. sometimes i think about it and have such rage. i know this isn't a very Christian response on my part. what are some ways that i can deal?

Am referring to concepts of heaven and hell, which r used to "make" the people do "good". Do u think this is right? Meaning, it makes a majority remain good, or refrain from becoming bad not out of their free will, but the above forces. Also, there might be problems with who "decides" what is good/right v/s bad/wrong. Sorry if I sound too judgmemental.

There are some nice christians, yes there are a select few that allow others to follow a different path. But why is it the the christian majority must insult, stalk, torment people of a different faith? With one breath they can proclaim they are the religion of love and peace, the next they can proclaim you as a sinner and condemn you to eternal damnation. Many non-believers have suffered physical pain from the christians. Down south the Christians have burned the meeting halls of other faiths, then cry when someone burns down a church. They have this it is only evil when you do it mentality..... I just want to know why.

Why do they make light the power of the cross?

Don't they realize that salvation is a gift of God & not of works lest anyone boasts?

Do they take away from what Jesus did on the cross, so they can control their followers through fear of not being good enouph to be saved?

i posted a question yesterday about atheists being "black and white" thinkers. i have to apologize and admit how ignorant that was. i was just frustrated with a few on here who never see the "gray areas." i know you're not all like that, many of you are educated, thoughtful, compassionate people.

Specifically I am looking for ideas that tackle the areas that religion is still an authority on, such as the purpose of life or how to treat your fellow man. Or ideas about how to deal with new technologies that are sure to emerge, like cloning, stem cell research artificial intelligence, etc

Whether you believe that Jesus was God or not, I want to point out that there is more historical evidence that Jesus lived than for any other historical figure of the era. Outside Biblical writings, there are numerous historical documentations of His existence, the most notable of a well recognized first century historian named Josephus. Some here say Jesus never existed, but historically, they are wong. Any comments?

I mean do u dislike them (subconsciously), ridicule them, etc? Because, something like "let them think however they want to" also indicates some kind of indifference.
