Most LDS Mormons that I speak to always ramble off that they don't practice polygamy openly anymore because it's illegal. But one thing they are not willing to mention is the fact that polygamy is evil and goes against the Ten Commandments.

They try to defend it by saying that the ancients practice polygamy but they also practiced incest and ritual killings. Not a valid agrument Latter Day's!

"Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery"

Since it was never legal to marry more than one wife marriage beyond the first is bigamy and by the Christian church is considered Adultery! I can't get one of my Mormon friends to admit that adultery is wrong but in the Christian church it is a sin!

Polygamy practiced by Joseph Smith and Brigham Young not only mocked marriage but it mocked RELIGION!

Someone recently told me that they find this offesive, but I, for one, find it rather humorous:

I don't need smart aleck answers from anyone who isn't a Christian. I prefer feedback from people who have actually read the books, and perhaps know them to be persuasive with a skeptic.

I think that one good reason for not allowing a Mormon president is because he would take his oath of office on a Book of Mormon and there isn't any documented proof that the Book of Mormon is anything other than Joseph Smith Jr''s fantasy story. The Bible, on the other hand, has documented proof and is an ancient historical document.

Please list as many answers as possible. I am trying to come up with at least 100 for my online blog.

Hello, it would really help if you could answer these questions because I don't know anything about the orthodox church! The clearest and most direct answer gets ten points.

1)What are the main artefacts in the church + what are they used for?

2) How does worship take place? Is there a set format or not? Is there silent worship? Does prayer take place as a coHngregation or individually?

3)Is there a vicar/priest/minister who leads the service or does no-one lead the service?#

4)How many sacraments are there in the church? what are they?

Thank you for your help :)

Did you ever wonder why when pastors come out of Pentacostal seminary that they can all do that slain in the spirit thing? That just doesn't set right with me. Don't get me wrong. I love to worship at Pentacostal churches. And I speak in tongues privately. I don't believe they all have this "gift" before they enter seminary, but they all or most have it after. Spiritual gifts shouldn't be based on whether you went to bible school or not. They should be given to those the Spirit chooses to give them to. It just doesn't seem right to me. What do you think? And feel free to state your opinion on being "slain in the Spirit" because it's not biblical and that doesn't set right in me either.

I read in many Yahoo Answers that Mormons believe that people with dark skin are cursed and that explains what happened to their physical appearance (if we are all descended from Noah). However, I think that most people understand that there were three creations (one for each of the three races: Caucasian, Mongoloid, and *******).

But is this the doctrine in the Mormon faith that excluded African Americans from being Priests in the LDS church?

Before I became a "Saint" I always would like to wear the temple garments. They were a soft material and always gave me a sexy feeling. But my question is for my friends that aren't Mormon yet (don't worry the Prophet Smith will reveal Himself to you in His time). Do you wear temple garments even if you aren't Mormon?

Okay here goes. I was at a funeral service for my godfather/uncle about a coule of months ago. Anyway while I was at the church which was Catholic by the way I felt a strong urge to get back to being a Christian and I felt as if something was pulling me to become a Christian once again as there were certain things that were said during the burial mass well in the church anyway that stood in my head. I've been tugging with it in my head and heart ever since then and I recently decided to become a Christian once again. Is that a sign? How would I go about becoming a member of the Catholic church. I was baptized as a baby but I never did the Communion or Confirmation and I'm an adult in my 20's. So what to do? What to do? What does it all mean?

ok here gose,im gussing you guys are getting tired of all the "dose god exsist" quistions, well lets settel it here and now.Ok take this into account,if we do not know when time started could it be that all time started when "GOD" was born?well i bet your looking at this very puzzeled but let me explain. If every universe ect. is 1 atom in a greater being e.g. "GOD" then time would havve started at the exact moment that being was born, thus meaning that when tis being dies then all of these universes will in turn die off.Anthor way that we can explain god not exsisting is with the big bang theroy,or darwins thery which you could just google to find. Now that you have herd this i want you to think, and then tell me,do you think god exsists.

I often see answers that start with this phrase. Then I ask "what is a true christian?" and I get answers like "someone who believes that Jesus was their savior."

It seems to me that they are saying a "true" christian wouldn't sin, yet they say everyone sins and christians are just forgiven for repenting. But then they say "a true christian would never..."

It just goes around in a circle.

Anyone care to explain the reasoning?
