Absolutely.
But it wasn't me that made me a Christian.
It was the grace of God that comes through faith in what Jesus did for me upon the cross.
I was born again over 36 years ago when I didn't know such a thing was possible and when I hated God and told Him to get out of my life.
Then when I was in that condition, God came to me by His Holy Spirit and whispered into my heart these words: "Maybe Jesus really did die for your sins," Suddenly a tremendous change took place in me, and I felt a flood of light and love and hope and peace and acceptance and forgiveness and understanding drive out the darkness and confusion and craziness out of my soul. I knew inside me that God had forgiven me and accepted me and loved me, just the way I was (and that wasn't very good); but I knew by His love that whatever was deficient in me, He was more that able to make up for. I started loving and trusting Him that day, and started trying to do things His way; not to try to make Him accept me, but because I knew He already had accepted me, and anyone who accepted me the way I was must be God, and He deserved my love and obedience. That was over 36 years ago, and He has done many beautiful things in me and through me; and after this, heaven!

I believe I am a Christian, I mean I'm baptized, go to church, believe in the Trinity, read the Bible, follow God's ways, the whole shabang. But it's not up to you to decide. It's God who decides, at Judgement Day if you are a Christian or not.
Maybe you've done some unGodly things in your lifetime. You will be judged on your punishment then. Stay loyal to God and you'll be okay.

a "true" Christian is just someone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and dedicates their life to Christ. (When you get saved, this is what you're doing)*
After you've done this, you're a Christian.
Their are people who say they are Christians because they walk around with a Bible, or because they go to church....but this is not how you become a "real" Christian.
Anyone who is saved, and and has asked the Lord to come into their heart and believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God is a Christian: period.

I have been born of God, born of His Spirit, cleansed by His blood, joint heirs with King Jesus & part of the family of God. That means that I am a true Christian.

God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit confirms to me I am a Christian.

LauraC, you should get some books with scripture of who you are in Christ. Once you are born of God, then you are made the righteousness of Christ. This is a gift of God & not of works lest anyone boasts. Judgment day for the Christian is awards day. For the everlasting we built on Christ foundation.

I believe that Jesus is God incarnate. He lived here on earth, died on a cross and rose from the dead, ascended into heaven.
Since I believe that , I am truly a Christian.

Most who profess to be Christian would say that they are real Christians. It's up to Jesus to make the final call.
