Or do you only believe because your parents put the ultimate Santa Claus into your mind?

Nobody ever devoted a book solely to Zeus because they were polytheists. They had creation stories and mythologies and the whole shebang that current religions do, we just happen to be more ignorant of the old religions. So technically, as Dawkins as put it, we're all atheists of one sort or another. Atheists just take it one god further.

I know not all people believe because of their parents. But indoctrinating the concept of a God in the mind of children is a very dangerous and bad thing.

It wasn't my parents that got me believing in God... it was your mother, actually. She has a serious way of convincing guyys that God exists.

We all pick and choose what to believe every day. To do otherwise would be ignorant in the extreme. Faith is the principle cause for action in all intelligent beings. If we didn't turn on a light switch until we had personal knowledge that all the required mechanisms were in perfect working order, we'd spend a good deal of time in darkness.

For me, I'm reached a significant level of certainly in who God is, His character, and the reason for earth life. You can reach this certainty as well if you're willing to make the effort.

I believe in all of the gods, although I think the Abrahamic one can't exist AS DESCRIBED.

As for who I worship, while that's none of your business, I wasn't the one choosing.

I was raised non-religious, and was an atheist as a child and young teen.

I can prove they do not exist in the ordinary sense of the word prove, nothing outside logic and mathematics can ever be proved 100%.

Edit:
And you'd be right.

I thank the tooth fairy every day all day that I am the only person in the entire world that recognizes the one true tooth fairy. In the entire world, I will be the one and only person who goes to the tooth puller of heaven, whereas everyone else, the false believers, will get everlasting torment in the dentist's chair of hell from my loving tooth fairy. Thank tooth fairy. It is all about love.

no one ever devoted a whole book and faith to Zeus or Thor ALONE. and don't assume that all believers grew up in religious families. my own mother refused to baptise me and was afraid to let me go to church with friends. it wasn't until i got out on my own that i found my own path.
