Someone posted that Allah and the 'christian God' are not the same, so I posted this:
"I believe in Allah, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Marry, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and buried, He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead."

which is part of The Apostles Creed only instead of saying God I put Allah (which is just arabi for God). I got four emails from people saying im evil. Why does that tick you off so much?

From a purely subjective thinking the Muslims might think and believe with a firm confidence that they are worshiping the true God, "Allah" yet the reality is quite the contrary as objectively speaking we can only affirm the contrary. This point is clear from Scripture "Whosoever does not continue in the doctrine of Christ does not have God". - II St. Jn 1:9

The teaching and the beliefs of Catholicism and Mohammedanism are different and contrary. Their concept of, and their approach to God, diverge and conflict. Catholics indeed accept as dogmatic truth the Holy Trinity, the Incarnation and the Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Moslems vehemently and vociferously deny the Blessed Trinity [2], the Incarnation [3], the Crucifixion of our Divine Lord and the Divinity of Christ [4]. The Mohammedans have such a carnal notion of heaven that St. Alphonsus did not hesitate to declare "The Mohammedan Paradise, is only fit for beasts; for filthy sensual pleasure is all the believer has to expect there." [5]

The Catholic and Christian God is 'The Trinity,' and our Lord Jesus Christ, the second Person of that Trinity, is the Creator and One true and merciful God. Despite monotheistic appearances, we do not have the same God; we do not have the same mediator. How then can it be that " together with us they (The Moslems) adore the one, merciful God." [6] This is incredible!

I am a Roman Catholic. The Catholic Church has never, doesn't and never will call the Almighty God "Allah". The title or name "Allah" is Arabic for the Islamic God, not for the universal God. God is love. Allah is fear and orders his people to submit themselves to him or else. They can't repent, Allah does not forgive. The God that the Jews worship is the same God that the Christians worsip. He is YHVH from the Old Testament. And then of course the Christians believe He sent His Son already. But Allah has no son. Jesus was only a man, a teacher to the Muslims. Allah is not YHVH and is not God. That's probably why many were upset with you.

You say you are a Roman Catholic, then you should be well aware of this. Either you are young and haven't learned this yet, or you haven't been paying attention to what the Church teaches. Check out the Vatican's website. Peace!

You are aware the Quran says Christians are blasphemers for saying Jesus is the Son of God. They also say he didn't die on the cross, that was a stunt double.

And that's Allah talking through Gabriel to Muhammad.

Now, you SURE you want to include Allah in your prayers. Remember the CATHOLIC CHURCH doesn't recognize any other religion as be the true religion of God other than the Roman Church.

It is a mortal sin to be a Mason. You can be excommunicated for that.

You might want to ask your Priest if there is a problem with thinking of Allah.

Allah and the Christian God are not the same. In Islam the person and work of Jesus Christ are not seen in the same way as in Christianity. For the Christian the resurrection of Jesus Christ as the incarnate Son of God is the vital cornerstone of faith, yet the Muslim does not hold to either of these truths-that Christ is the Son of God or that he rose from the dead.

I wasn't going to post; only read what others' had to say (and rate answers); but, a late post got me !

You did not insult islam; you insulted Christ and Christianity !
Al..is a counterfeit of The Most High God. The Most High God has never, ever called Himself Al---nor have His prophets or Son. IF al---was the Father, Jesus would have at the very least hinted of it.

And, as posted, islam does not believe in Jesus as resurrected from the dead; He was merely a prophet. Which also insults Him !!

What a convennnient deal for muhhamud to 'ride his horse into heaven' at the dome of the rock site; and for the One True Savior to die a horrible and ignominious death on a roman cross !! (At that same rock) !

Maranantha, and girl He is ticked at you ....LOL

Women you have the doctrine. Treasure it, share it, and bless everyone with it. It is only their misunderstanding and you should respond back with clear explanation like the above. Who is ticking off now ? How did this happen to you. Let that doctrine which was reveal to you by God our Father, through Jesus Christ in meekness and understanding. Your explaining openly in this forum is pride working in you. Beaware, it looks like a very innocent explanation but the pride of doctrine is a trap waitnig. Fall not into it.

Religions cannot co-exist. In the Muslim Religion, they say Jesus has no significance other than being a great prophet, that is only one example. People know this, you cannot form Religions together and call them the same name. You would be creating your own faith with no back up evidence.

I thought Islam had it's roots in the Old Testament so that doesn't sound that offensive.

Maybe people are offended because you are alluding to similarities between Christianity and Islam when they have been violently opposed for centuries.

Religious people are the most easily offended IMHO!

The people of Malta say Allah (in their language) and they are the most devout Roman Catholics !
